You know George, in a time where people like to slander other people and falsely call them "Nazis" and protesting of monuments and such, in my hometown we have many buildings named after a real Nazi who invented the V-2 rocket that killed many people in England. Yet nobody ever complains or protest about it. Not yet at least.

You ever seen trailer park boys?

It is most popular up north and in Canada. But it is also popular in Europe and truly is an international sport.

1. Canada isn’t ‘yankee’ by the U.S. definition.
2. NHL has popular and prominent teams in Texas, Carolina, Tenn, Florida, and Washington D.C.
D.C is the closest of those to the traditionally considered ‘yankee’ region of Penn, NY, Mass etc, but most of the country wouldn’t consider it a ‘yankee’ state.
Hockey is unpopular in the deep southeastern footprint that the SEC occupies, but it is gaining popularity in the greater southern region of the U.S:

I don't disagree with you. But US hockey is most popular in the north. My hometown loves hockey, and there are teams all over the country. But the area of the US where there are the most youth leagues and the sport is most popular is in the North. That is just a fact.

Dude, there’s only a handful of SEC schools that have soccer. S = South

It's fun in person but sucks on tv. The puck is difficult to follow

We're having a hard enough time getting women's mud wrestling sanctioned let alone men's hockey.

Midnight games, beer, and general rowdiness will keep UK a club team not a NCAA team.

Lexington is the 2nd most northern school in the conference and we get 10" of snow total a year. Does that answer your question Einstein?
Posted on 4/24/21 at 10:03 pm to Pesci_Avocado
Because it’s a regional sport and it isn’t this region.

Only Mizzou would have a snowball's chance to compete against the Minnesota and Beanpot (Massachusetts) programs. St. Louis has become a hotbed of talent in the past 2 decades.
Like wrestling, they're on an island all to themselves in the SEC.

Do you really want to face UAH?

Title IX.
I played hockey growing up.
Youth leagues werent very competitive in my day. But they are extremely competitive right now.
Ive followed UGAs hockey team loosely since the 90s. They would have games after IHL contests in the Omni. If the Dawgs offered scholarships, qualified talent would be in Athens. There are plenty of kids not capable of playing professionally but capable of fielding a strong college team heading up North for scholarships. They would be just as happy to spend those years in Athens.

I forgot to mention Chicago. Mizzou is littered with students and alums from Chicagoland and they have youth programs galore. Upgrade the facilities, hire a coaching staff that can clean up STL, CHI, the upper Midwest and certain areas of the Northeast and Canada and you’re good to go.

Why don't you support your children?

Hockey:
A good sport that NOBODY south of the MD line has ever played or knows anything about...also expensive to maintain.
NO THANKS! We've got enough sports already.

Hockey is racist. The only thing black is the puck and you see how it gets treated...
