What about 2020? It's always excuses with you. Has Kirby ever done anything wrong in your eyes?
We haven't had the pieces fall together, plain and simple.

In 2019, we had a seasoned QB but no one for him to throw to. Injuries and inconsistency with a young group of receivers made the passing game almost unbearable to watch.

In 2020, we had older, more consistent pass catchers, but we didn't have a decent starting QB until the season was almost over. At that point, Daniels came in and it was a night-and-day difference in our ability to move the ball.

This season is expected to be like last season when Daniels was our starter, given the experience in our WR unit and now experience with a good starting QB. The problem right now is that those experienced WRs (and TEs) have dropped like flies due to injuries. No matter how good our QB is, if he doesn't have good targets, he's not going to look good. That's what we saw against Clemson. The hope is that our receivers can get healthy before the meat of our schedule gets here.

Didn't Bama do this a few years back with FSU? They also didn't sqeak by 10-3 with no offensive TD's.

Didn’t that FSU team finish with 4 wins? If Clemson does the same then UGA’s win won’t look nearly as good. I think we can both agree Clemson is a better win than Miami and Notre Dame was a better win than Duke or Louisville.

OP is a perfect example of one who doesn't have the facts nor wants to know the facts.

Dismissed.

How is it Bama's fault that the #3 team they scheduled and beat had a bad season?

It was said that Alabama doesn't schedule these games. They do. In fact, there isn't a team in college football that has beat the amount of ranked teams Alabama has Out of Conference the last 10 years.

When is the last time bama played a game with an OoC opponent that finished the season ranked? I agree it’s not their fault FSU imploded, but it’s still a win over a 4 win ACC team. It’s not that bama doesn’t schedule these games, they just haven’t recently. I’m fairly positive Bama some coming up though.

Since 2017, I remember other SEC schools having a ranked OoC opponent

Auburn- Oregon/Clemson
A&M- Clemsonx2
Tennessee- OU
LSU- UCLA
UGA- NDx2/Clemson
Bama-

96 yards passing with Ridley was awful. Now imagine no Ridley.

Pretty sure in 2017 Southern Cal finshed #3 after Bama beat them 52-6 in the opener. Alabama literally does this in the Playoffs just about every single season as well. How about Georgia?

Pretty sure bama played FSU in 2017. So does that make USC 2016? Can you not agree that’s a long time between ranked OoC games?

Bama played FSU who was #3 in 2017. Southern Cal in 2016. They do it in the playoff just about every year. How many times has Georgia played these teams in the playoffs?

I think Kirby got exactly what he wanted out of Fields. He kept Fields out of the hands of rivals like Gus or Mullen that would truly unlock his potential and use it to beat UGA. Obviously he didn’t know how to make use of a guy like Fields. Not to mention, he’s got his two southern Georgia good ol boys(which is extremely important to him) in Jake Fromm and Stetson Bennett.

Back then the SEC also was blocking intraconference transfers. Taking Fields was one of Smarts best decisions he’s ever made.

I think he wanted him to be our starting qb in 2020.

What do the playoffs have to do with regular season OoC games? lol not sure why you won’t admit Bama’s OoC slate has been lacking lately.

Nah, he walked on. But he was 2nd string QB in 2019.
