Why does ESPN hate college baseball?

If you want to grow the game, you show games on cable that have crowds in the stands and energy. Yeah, lets show UK/WF with nobody in the stands to start off. Let's show NC State/UCF in a dead stadium on ESPN2. To grow the game, you need energy. ESPN seems to have no desire to show it.

You really want ESPN to “grow” college baseball à la the way it’s “grown” college football?

So now it's ESPN's responsibility to fill stadiums and make them excited? This is in the top ten of stupid posts today, and there have been a lot of stupid posts today.

No, but you show games that you know beforehand will have better crowds and energy. Why do you show LSU/Alabama football on ABC primetime Saturday, but not Kent State at Toledo?

Which game should have been on instead?

What can they do? Half the games today & tomorrow are going to be between 2 teams on the road, with little to no fan support

It doesn’t matter. Very few watch college baseball on tv outside of the SEC. And even there it’s not a lot. Not a good sport to invest all your money in.

And one of the games he's bitching about was an SEC vs ACC game.

college baseball owes any mindshare/success it has or will ever have to ESPN, which has been broadcasting it for 50 years. so this is a pretty weird post.

And, one way or another, ESPN shows every game. The blame ESPN parroting is stale.

Do people not tune in for the 16/1 game for the basketball tournament? Random people just surfing the channels might stop to watch a game that has a crowd and energy. I understand that Auburn shite the bed so you don't want that on TV.

And I was able to watch every miserable minute of it.

If you have the ESPN + app, you can see any game for like $10 a month.
