quote:I doubt it but I think it's a push by ESPN to bring notoriety to women's sports. If you notice during the season they are always advertising women's soccer and other sports. I think that is just the top down from Disney to try to exploit women's sports like UGC. I don't know their overall strategy but it's definitely a strong push to make women's sports more important.
Is softball getting more popular than baseball? It seems all the softball games have been in prime time on ESPN and Espn2

Or, possibly, the fact that softball draws better viewership. Not everything is because of the bad mouse.

Even for this site, this a ridiculously stupid thread.

Just for cutsies, why don't you go back and pull some numbers for regular season softball games and I'll pull some for SEC baseball. Do both live attendance and viewership.

ESPN is the best thing to happen to College Baseball.

Do people not tune in for the 16/1 game for the basketball tournament?
Not for a whole game, unless you're a fan of one of the teams. Normally, people start tuning in if it's competitive well into the second half.

ESPN first started televising College Baseball back in the 1980’s. They had Sunday Night College Baseball and then later Monday Night College Baseball. That was prior to them covering MLB.
I do agree they seem to promote Women’s Softball more than CBB but they still cover College Baseball pretty well.
With the streaming available now, most games can be viewed which overall is a good thing.

This logic would apply if it were the 90s and people just watched particular channels. That's not how people watch these days. Everything is customized.
