They hate Cal, they hate Pitino, they hate Tubby. All championship winning coaches. I'm not sure who would want to go there.

I don't hate any of them.

Pitino revived a program from its darkest days.

Tubby and Cal suffered from the same thing. Won a title early, then struggled to maintain.

If Tubby was the HC and Cal was his recruiter, I think we would all be happy.

They hate Cal because he couldn't win with an all-star team. His team showed no effort at all, and I don't blame them for hating him.

Tubby was honored this season and really well received by fans. So we don't currently hate Tubby. I do think there was animosity at the end of his tenure because he plateau'd, didn't want to deal with AAU kids, and then there was the spin of we were firing a Black HC (which brought a lot of ESPN ire). To say he's "hated" isn't accurate at this point.

Pitino wasn't hated until he went to our in-state rival after leaving for the Celtics. Folks understood leaving for a historically good franchise job in the NBA. But it was easy to hate him at Louisville. I don't think he's hated at this point. Some even want him back.

Cal will likely not be hated down the road IMO. Right now it's just raw because he struggled to change with the times and gave fans a lot of shite in interviews for questioning him. But when Cal was good, it was fantastic.

Gillispie I wouldn't piss on if he was on fire. But he did some pretty horrible things to players while at UK. I won't forgive him for the things he did to Darius Miller and Jodie Meeks.

Only 4 CBB coaches in the last 70 years have won a NC at a school and left to go to another college program. Hell, it may be only 4 in the history of CBB, I just don’t feel like researching before 1960.

Norm Sloan - 1974 - Left NC Stare to go to Florida in 1980 after a salary dispute

Rollie Massimino - 1985 - Left Villanova to go to UNLV in 1992 after 7 straight seasons of double digit losses

Tubby Smith - 1998 - Left UK to go to Minnesota in 2007 after 2 seasons of only making the Rd of 32.

John Calipari - 2012 - Left UK to go to Arkansas in 2024 after 2 first round NCAA losses in 3 years.

2 of the 4 are UK coaches

Not true. Hate Eddie Sutton and Billie Gillespe. All others are OK.

Note though, This Cal hire is payback for Eddie Sutton!

This is a saying I've seen many times and it always brings a visual, but I'm having a difficult time picturing a woman pissing out a fire in the first place.
