From that point on, it was 100 percent his team.

I’m definitely on the Nuss Bus, but JD could be a lot better if he could learn to play from the pocket and trust his arm talent and reads.
Against UGA when he physically couldn’t run, he made some of the best pocket throws of his career.

he was. Burrow just found that extra gear
You obviously didn’t watch LSU 2018 football. Burrow made great throws to inexperienced receivers that dropped 4-5 catchable passes per game. After a full season in the program and summer of 10,000 catches those plays became first downs or touchdowns.

He needs to be less cautious and let the ball go when we are one on one on the outside. Lots of deep shots were there and he wouldn’t throw it…he completes more deep shots and it will open up the run game and create a more consistent offense this year.

that run of "good numbers" was against fla, ole miss, alabama. not the greatest of defenses, but that stretch showed what he's capable of
People also forget the 4th quarter vs Florida State.
LSU was down 14 with about 4 minutes left and JD led 2 TD drives. The last was, I think 95 yards with about 90 seconds left.
He threw a bullet TD pass that should have led to a tie game. It gets lost because the extra point was blocked and the Tigers lost.
But it was an incredible effort by him after a pretty average first 3 quarters. Again, it showed he had the ability to lead and could elevate his game when it mattered.

If, and it's a big IF, he can go through progressions and stay in the pocket unlike last year, and fire it to his receivers downfield, then we have a stud QB.
Also, because Nuss is right behind him, and has that ability, LSU should be fine either way.

Very good question. I hear LSU fans with the Burrow comparisons
Just this morning was listening to a couple talking heads in Nashville and they said Daniels was a huge question mark. LSU fans think he is the 2nd coming, everybody else sees him as meh. He's solid, he's not upper echelon.
They will say oh, Bama game, Bama game. Bama wasn't elite last year. At times down right bad. The worst Bama team since 2010 to be honest and 2010 would have beaten last years Bama.

So, until the end of week 1?

Just out of curiosity, what do you consider to be a very long time? I don't know much about the make up of LSU's OL.

Not that long. We had a really good line in 2019.

That was my initial thought but wanted to ask anyway. 2019 is not what I would consider a very long time ago.

Felt like Burrow was running for his life fairly often that year and had to make a lot of plays with his legs.

Completely false, this is about like your baseball scholarship whining posts.
Daniels gets far more respect nationally than he does in the LSU fanbase.
Pretty much every list of CFB quarterbacks has him listed in the top 10 and top 2 in the SEC.

Won the Joe Moore award.
Plus, give some credit - we played some damn good defenses.

They see highlights. I feel like a lot of tiger fans are actually pretty objective on him. He does a lot of things right, and carries himself well, but has got to do better making reads.
Burrow recency bias has us spoiled.

Their back up QB is better IMO
Daniels gets a bit rattled when he faces a tough D from my observations

He’s still a ball hog until he proves otherwise.
