Soooo...the New York Yankees of 1960...winners of 14 of the last 25 World Series and 18 of the last 25 American League pennants...was not a dynasty?

Look at these records.

2008: 12-2
2009: 14-0
2010: 10-3
2011: 12-1
2012: 13-1
2013: 11-2
2014: 12-2
2015: currently 12-1

How could you not call that a dynasty with 3 national championships and 5 SECCG appearances (4 wins)

On top of all that, 2 Heisman winners and 2 assistants both off to coach major SEC programs, one having great success at the moment.

They haven't won a Natty since 2011. That's hardly what one would consider a dynasty. Yes, THEY Have A Great PROGRAM But It's Not A dynasty.

Incorrect----We won it in 2012 also.

If Bama wins it that will be 4 in 7 years. Right now its 3 in 6 years. If that's not a dynasty then there isn't one.

Alabama has won half of the national championships in the last 6 years. Very very few programs have ever done better

But I wonder who has matched that winning % over nearly a decade.

Nebraska, Osbourne/Solich, 1993-2001 (9 years)

102-12-0 89.47%

I would imagine the Notre Dame teams in the 40's might have a similar percentage as well...they, along with the Nebraska teams you mention and the latest Bama run are the only teams to win 3 Championships in 4 years...Notre Dame actually won 4 titles in 7 years ('43, '46, '47, and '49)...Nebraska was only a missed FG away in '93 from winning 3 straight...

1970's Notre Dame
1980's Miami Canes
1990's Nebraska
2000's Southern Cal? OSU?
2010-present Alabama without a doubt. No signs of slowing down either.

Or when a program loses so few times, that it becomes very memorable. that everyone can name those 3 losses instantly of the top of their head to try to prove some point.
That's a clear sign your team is a dynasty.

A dynasty is considered winning 2 titles in 3 or 4 years. Very few CFB teams have done it. Nebraska, Oklahoma, Alabama ND maybe a couple more. Oklahoma winning 47 straight is probably the most impressive in history.
