They should take the Rebel name back and tell the haters to shove it.

This “y’all are so racist” bullshite is so tired. Why don’t you tell everybody about Harold Franklin or your granny governor dressing in blackface while at auburn, etc.? Pointing at other schools problems with racism in the past while whitewashing your own makes you look like a democrat. You probably wear a mask while driving alone. Every school in sec, probably in the whole country, has some ugly shite in their past. Something something glass houses bruh.

It’s why admiral Ackbar should have been the mascot since he led the rebel alliance

Missed opportunity

They were loyal to the state. And neither side fought over slavery.

More to the point for me:

Why do they want The Braves and. Organizations to change their names because it is disrespectful to Native Americans but the Ole Miss teams cannot be called the Rebels because it glorifies the South?

Does naming teams glorify or denigrate the parties they are named after?

It glorifies the party. The general consensus on Native American names is its fine to use the name of a Tribe or something like Warrior or Brave or Chief but not the race like Indians or Redskins.
