He lost five out of his last six games last year, makes the worst decisions during crunch time, and has never really won anything of great significance. However, most of their fans think he is a top tier college coach?

Yeah I agree. Nobody should try to take him from us. Ever. He’s terrible. Everyone should stay away

Can’t believe he didn’t get fired but yet got a hefty extension. He’s doing something right lol

The real question is, why does every fanbase except for Tennessee love him and want him as their coach?

LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Auburn, Miami, Nebraska, etc.

I'm glad AU got the Freeze over Freshwater.

But he's the GOAT qb whisper-er-er we're told. He finds an athlete and rides him until he can't be ridden any longer. Then Kiffin poses for the the reaction shot.

And the Oscar goes to...

It's bizarre, isn't it. I'm happy his grifting has paid off for him but now Ole Miss looks even worse.

Just like w/ Fisher, and Sumlin before him. Or Les Miles and then coach O, Guz, Mel Tucker, Harbough and James Franklin. Coaching seems to reward absolute mediocrity... thanks Jimmy Sexton - you are never mediocre.

Don’t be so naive. Not one team fears Kiffin.

Maybe he should kill a kid like Brian Kelly.

Not sure if you want a real answer or not, but here is why most OM fans are still okay with him:

1) Everyone (including other fanbases) knew OM would take a step back after losing as much as they did the year prior. That includes players and both coordinators. Losing both coordinators was huge and can't be understated.

2) Everyone that paid attention knew that OMs schedule was incredibly back-loaded last season. They looked like they were primed for a great season early on, but most people understood that it was fools gold.

3) OM fans are still disappointed that the season ended how it did. However, if you check the preseason projections, you'll see most fans expected 4-5 losses.

4) If Kiffin can't improve this next season, you'll see OM fans start raising hell.

I don't remember the OU fanbase wanting Lane Kiffin, there were many who clearly didn't want him, OU wanted a coach that could change the Defense and go back to the kind of football OU was known for, that was CLEARLY not Kiffin. I have a lot of ties to Ole Miss, and I was PRAYING that he would go to Auburn. This guy is an arrogant arse. It's like he thinks he is playing NCAA 14 on the PS3. He thinks he should be able to do whatever he wants and stubbornly goes for it, even when it is not working. His metrics SUCK. He might be a good coordinator, but he is a liability at HC.

In 2022, yes, but not in 2021. Sit tight. 2023 might be fun.

He comes of as an entitled prick who has underperformed with the resources his parents gave him. Natural fit in Oxford.

Maybe once they realized they had overpaid they just dug deeper and tried to convince themselves it was worth it.

I don't think you understood how bad our o line was last year in pass blocking. And how talent deficient that defense was. The end of the season was not great but going into the year we knew that was a possibility with how the schedule was set up.

Lane got paid because he brings relevance to Oxford with on the field play and a brand off the field. We aren't getting anyone better.

Umm bc he is our coach. Better question, why do other fan bases seem to hate him so much….that is until coach searching time comes around

Won't lie, I got caught up in the hype and I do like his offensive style. I am more happy with Freeze and his recruiting style and he has just as good acumen on offense.

I think Kiffin is great for Ole Miss.
