I don't think any Ole Miss fans have an issue with our 2020 season. It was Kiffin's first season and we finished with a bowl win and .500 or better for the first time since 2015. We won three conference games in a row for the first time in ages. Sure, there were some mind numbing losses (Arkansas and LSU come to mind), but we upset the #11 team in the Outback Bowl and had a lot of positive momentum going into 2021, which clearly paid off.

I also think the OP has no clue what the fanbase really thinks of Kiffin. Many, and I don't use that word lightly, were incensed by his refusal to commit to the program and antics regarding a raise/contract extension last season. All of the power was in Lane's hands to end the speculation, but he wouldn't, because he is not sure if he really wants to be here (hence all the rumors about him and Auburn).

If he pulls this stunt again now that he has this massive contract, I suspect many Rebs will respond like this:

But don't let this informative post get in the way of a troll thread.

His dewshbag, prep school, peaked in high-school persona is a perfect fit in Oxford.

And to think it's only March... How many threads can one middling coach generate before September?

I wouldn't be short on faith in him yet, either. I understand the against-argument, but when it's all said and done, he will be a major name to contend with. Whether or not OM has that much time in them to continue letting him learn the trade at the HC position or not, who knows? As a fan, I'd be just like you.

He has the best winning percentage since Johnny Vaught

Billy Kinard .640 (2 seasons and 3 games)
Lane Kiffin .638 (3 seasons)
David Cutcliffe .603 (6 seasons)
Hugh Freeze .609 (5 seasons)

Through three full seasons, he's also had a lower winning % than Houston Nutt (.647) did in his first 3 seasons, and that includes a 4-8 season for Nutt.

I'm not saying I wouldn't be happy about having him if I were an Ole Miss fan, but being the best since Vaught isn't exactly the highest bar nor does it encompass a big enough sample size to use that as a reliable barometer.

He is well worth the money.

IMO I think that's TBD. He'll be the 9th highest paid HC in college football in 2023. Is a single NY6 appearance really worth that much capital now? Maybe it is, but just seems a little much for what he's done to date

The ratio of Jimbo to Freshwater threads on this site is in excess of 100:1.

I agree TBD. If he can get another NY6 this year it's definitely worth it. If next season is like last season, he is overpaid for sure.

Well, Tennessee and USC.

Won't lie, I got caught up in the hype and I do like his offensive style. I am more happy with Freeze and his recruiting style and he has just as good acumen on offense.

I think Kiffin is great for Ole Miss.

I was caught up in the hype too. He has a brand that is more high profile than Freeze, and we need recruits like crazy. I thought that could work.

But then again he's a so-so recruiter and OM's performance down the last half of the season was brutal.

He lost five out of his last six games last year, makes the worst decisions during crunch time, and has never really won anything of great significance.
Sounds like the perfect fit for Ole Miss.

Kiffin is fine. He has had ole miss ranked in the top 10 in 2/3 seasons. He puts a fun product on the field. He recruits guys who could play anywhere in the country. He gives ole miss national exposure and has gotten the fan base to buy in more than any other coach in Ole Miss history with the $15M in NIL. If you don’t know why ole miss fans like Kiffin you’re probably a disingenuous bitch afraid of what he could accomplish at ole miss.

I think we've seen what he can accomplish at Ole Miss. What I don't know is if it would have translated to bigger things at Auburn or not. The recruiting and analytics on your own side of the 50 are turn offs.

He’d probably win 1 more game at auburn each year. Kiffin is a fricking psycho no one is denying that.
