Can’t speak for LSU but for UGA it boils down to the same reason someone loses when 2 evenly matched teams meet…. It comes down to depth and talent. In the 2017 SEC CG Alabama and UGA were pretty evenly matched, Alabama had an edge in depth and talent and won. Same in 2018. UGA was outmatched in 2020. When the SEC CG was played in 2021 UGA was missing key depth and talent and Bama won. In the rematch UGA was completely healthy, Alabama was not, UGA won. In 2023 UGA was missing talented depth, Alabama was deeper with talent for the game and won.

As deep and talented as UGA has been and is Alabama has had an edge, at the time the game was played, and won, same as it’s always been.

This is not saying UGA lost due to injuries. Injuries are part of the game for everyone. If your deep enough and have enough talent you have someone step up. You don’t have a big drop off in production. Alabama has had the edge in depth and talent.

Vacate victories? How about claiming wins that were losses. Hell 2009 alone, y’all lost to Auburn,LSU, and Tennessee. The refs gave you at least those 3 games that year. It was so bad Slive had to start fining any coach that complained about the SEC ref’s cheating. And you make all these false claims of a national championships. It’s like watching the WWF, when y’all play a SEC game.
And then y’all claim a bunch of bs about championships from 1812.
Bama is a bunch of winded bs

Don’t think so.
Those are just the tip of the iceberg. Basically bama being classless losers, that claim a lot of bs. 2020 was another one. Lol come on. This is a fact. The 1812 was a exaggeration of your bs.
Then the sec being like the wwf with Slive backing it and keeping down the uproar with his bs. Is fact. What y’all do is embarrass yourself. Talking all your sh@t

No thread about Bama would be complete without an LSU fan whining about the refs

Lol. It ain’t just LSU fans that deal with sec bs.I ain’t whining. Just stating facts. You’re the ones that seem offended by the truth.
It takes a lot out of watching a game whether it be bama vs auburn, Tennessee, LSU, whoever. when the sec refs(bama alumni) and Mike Slive have determined a winner. I want to see a contest where the best team wins, not this crap. I would have just as much fun watching the wwf. If bama is playing anyone other than LSU, I just turn the channel or turn it off.
Lol, then y’all go to talking about what all you have won. It’s a joke and so is your team and fans.

UGA really hasn't played consistently badly against Bama.

In 2017 UGA played very well against Bama. They blew a coverage in OT, but the reality is Bama was the better team and UGA was playing lights out to be in that game.

2018 SECCG was similar. UGA lost, but overall played above their level.

In 2020 UGA didn't play horrible, but due to the covid year causing us to play without our starting QB all season and then the QB we had got hurt just before half time, UGA didn't have the gas to keep up after injuries.

In 2021, UGA had one bad quarter out of 8 against Bama. Their defense gave up more than 10 points in a quarter only that one time all season (24 vs Bama). It was a VERY bad quarter, but it wasn't a consistent level of poor play.

2023 was a consistently bad day for UGA. It's really the only one I'd say UGA played poorly for the whole game rather than just having a few bad plays or that one horrific quarter. UGA seemed to start to get out of the funk late in the game, but it was too late at that point.

UGA's only really been on par with Bama for talent since 2021. Perhaps would have been in 2020 if UGA hadn't been missing guys with Covid withdrawals. The close losses in 2017 and 2018 were not UGA playing poorly. They were playing above their talent level, just not quite good enough to get the win either time.

I'm sure probation has nothing to do with that.

I think both schools have the same inferiority complex that causes them to choke in their games against Bama. They basically go into the game expecting to lose to Bama, and that’s exactly what happens. The mindset negatively affects their performance.

Auburn plays Bama better than anyone because they’re confident that they can beat Bama.

I honestly think UGA was the best team in college football in 2023, but they choked yet again against Bama. If UGA had gotten in, I think they would have won the whole thing again.

Inferiority complex my arse. Some fans, like you, might have an inferiority complex when it comes to Alabama, but the players don't think that way. Saban stockpiled more talent than any other team in the SEC for the majority of his tenure. In doing so, he went 12-5 against both Auburn and LSU. I'm not sure what his record was against UGA. It's not rocket science.

Same as ever my arse. You’ll be looking for a new head coach in 3 years and half of your fanbase will have passed on from clogged up arteries and sleeping in their own trailer filth.

BS

UGA has been recruiting as well as Bama for many years now. They simply choke when they play Bama because Bama is in their heads.

Just stop with this. The "best team in college football" doesn't "choke" in it's biggest game of the year. The best team in college football wins their big games and this year that was Michigan.

Nah. The best team doesn’t always win the championship. Just look at the NFL. Sometimes the 6 seed will get hot in the playoffs after going 9-7 in the regular season and win the whole thing.

See 2005 Pittsburgh Steelers or 2011 New York Giants

After winning the Super Bowl after the 2005 season, Steelers coach Bill Cowher said “the best team in football did not win the Super Bowl this year”.
