We've hated them since they joined the conference. I was born in '83, so Arkansas joining was part of my formative years as a Cat fan.
They came into the conference running their mouths thinking they were hot to trot with Nolan. And they haven't stopped running their fricking mouths since.
Cal is simply more fuel to the fire.
They hate us because they wish they had our basketball program, and they really get their arse chapped because they take football more seriously than we do and we still have a winning record v them head to head, which is fricking hilarious. Couldn't even beat us with McFadden.

They're mad that we took their coach because they're poor. Their boosters can't keep up. Took them two years to save enough for this years roster and they flipped into 9th place in the SEC

So the narrative is they underperformed for a $22 million dollar roster, but were also too poor?

As a matter of fact, we won the SEC regular season title twice before Kentucky won it after we joined. We were the defending national champs the year Kentucky finally won the SEC after we joined.

Arkansas is to Kentucky in basketball what LSU is to Alabama in football. Despite being nowhere close to them historically, they run their mouths like they think they're equals.

I don't hate Kentucky. Actually have a lot of respect for the standard in not only the SEC, but the country in basketball.
We both play hard and while we are still a tier behind them, we are closer to being competitive than many other conference foes.
They were tired of Cal. We needed a good coach. Any animosity is mostly "we're banging your ex" energy.
