Real talk. It is a state of Alabama thing. Coach will be Coach until he dies...whether he is a T-ball coach or the head man at the flagship university of the state of Alabama.

I don't understand it either. I never refer to Saban as Coach Saban. It makes no sense calling him by that title unless you were a former player of his.

This is what Coach Bryant was talking about when he said to act like you've been there. When your program can claim a national championship in a major sport of any kind, then maybe someone will care about your opinion on the proper way to address the person responsible for coaching the team that brought it home.
Until that day happens, you can call your coach Mary fricking Poppins for all I care. I'll continue to call mine Coach <Last Name>.
