They refer to all of their former coaches as Coach
My favorites are Coach Shula and Coach Price. Love seeing those "P: THE COACH" stickers when I travel through Alabama.

You must be among those media members that likes to yell "Nick" at press conferences.

It's to distinguish him from that other Saban who started Power Rangers.

I realize it's the more goofy part of your fanbase.

Someone called in on Finebaum one time and referred to Nick as "Head Coach Nick Saban" about twenty times in the call.
"Well, Paul, I'd like to talk about the call to trot our kickers out there after those misses last Saturday. I know that's what Head Coach Nick Saban wanted, and I'm not complaining about Head Coach Nick Saban. Head Coach Nick Saban is a good coach for us, and I dare not question Head Coach Nick Saban and the strategy of Head Coach Nick Saban. I'm just saying, all you fake Bama fans who are questioning Head Coach Nick Saban probably aren't true fans at all. Head Coach Nick Saban knows what Head Coach Nick Saban is doing out there..."

Who the frick talks like that?
If the rest of you dumbasses would properly respect your HC's, y'all might have a little better results. Just sayin'.

Yeah. I'm sure you calling him "Coach" on a message board really motivates the team.

Before I found this place, I remembered a heated discussion on tidefans about how the Birmingham News' beat writer didn't always refer to him as Coach Saban at press conferences. They were pissed. Serious business.
I don't refer to him on here as that because it sounds a bit awkward for some reason. But if I met him in real life I'm sure that's what I'd refer to him as.

I forgot to add something.
I like to call my testes "Coach A" and "Coach B".

What does Merlins call him? Daddy?

I don't think you get the point. Using titles such as this, goes in line with the adulation that a head coach can receive at Alabama (or any major program). That adulation and support is a big reason why the job is coveted. It may seem small and insignificant, but successful coaches do have egos.

I'm feeling 10 wins for Coach Merlins

I prefer to refer to him as "the Dark Lord"

Slippery's HC's can only aspire to Croom someone.
Top o' the mountain over there.

Meh. I call him "Nick" or "Saban" on message boards all the time (which is what this thread is about). In person, he's Coach Saban...just like my old coaches from high school will always be "Coach Blahblah"...
