Why did Durkin turn down the Mizzou job?

Y’all are supposed to make a run next year and he was gonna be a huge upgrade at the DC spot. What happened tiger fans?

Huge is having offer 3 years guaranteed contracts which is rare in Coordinator positions.

Freeze didn’t waste time turning over his coordinators year 1. It’s actually refreshing to see a self aware coach not wasting time when they struggled. Now Auburn giving out 3 year deals instead on annual years is wild. Freeze is assuming he’ll get it right the 2nd time hiring.

Actually no one said he bad. Even in the Mizzou started thread, a Mizzou fan started it off stating his “toxic” culture as if he was beneath them. He’d be an upgrade at Mizzou. His defenses require a lot of LBers, which we are deficient at that position. Mizzou’s defense, on the other hand, LB is their strong point and Durkin coaches LBers. Y’all probably would have excelled. But he’s probably Auburn bound, which is a higher profile job.

we have been waiting on some nfl coaches that weren't out of the playoffs yet. durkin didn't want to wait on us and risk losing both the offers at mizzou and auburn

Heck yeah, why wouldn’t any defensive coordinator in the divisional championship round drop that job in a heartbeat to coach at mizzou under drink? That’s a no brainer…
