Why aren't sports writers asking Saban/Smart and named boosters about alleged payments?

I don't get today's media because they are so soft! You have one of the most high profile/controversial HS coaches in the country talking about how two of the biggest names in college football are paying their players and even names boosters and not one reporter has bothered to follow up on this story! Anyone with half a brain knows all the big boys pay their players and you're given this story on a silver platter and they're too afraid to go after the story! I haven't seen one quote from either coach or booster! The media today is a joke. Sports writers today are nothing more than glorified fans that get into games free, get a lot of free crap from the universities and get to rub elbows with their favorite team's HC! Old school reporters would have never let this opportunity slip by!

because today's media knows their place. They don't jump unless told to and they don't asked a questions unless someone approves the question.

Because it's pure hearsay. That means it's all secondhand information. They would also consider the source. The dude has the morals of an ally cat.

Reporters are smart enough to know that if they ask Saban/Smart and named boosters, they'll all say Rush Propst is a known liar, deny any allegations, and there will be no story.

People don't generally spill the beans when they're asked a question, so a reporter would probably have to dig first to find actual evidence, then go ask questions about what they found.

Because it's March Madness time.

When that's over and they don't have current games being played in a hig profile setting, they will begin to talk aboutfootball.

And you'll see the questions start to arise.

We know how Saban will handle it. I'm curious as to how much Kirby wilts trying to save face.

You have to be an idiot to think there is anything to it.

First thing I'm saying, "You mean the guy who had two families and lost his job as a high school coach due to proven corruption? That guy is accusing people of cheating?"

The internet has killed the newsrooms. The only people left have no clue what it means to be a reporter. Very few publications have the ability to fund a long investigation into something. Just like their viewership, the news organizations have about a 1-day attention span. Its all about eyeballs and clicks these days.

We're only now beginning to grasp the true impact of the internet on our social systems.

My response: "Yeah. The guy who's an expert on cheating is saying you are cheating. Care to refute the expert?"

Considering not a single one of his players has ever signed with Saban or Smart, it's fairly obvious that much of what Rush Propst is saying is hearsay. You also need to consider the source. He's a serial adulterer who had a second family apart from his real one. And even those two women weren't enough. He was also banging the assistant principal of Hoover High School while married to his wife and dating a single mother.

Maybe what he's saying is true, but the NCAA is not going to use Rush Propst as a star witness considering the man's past. It's just as equally possible that the man is bitter that he never got a job at Alabama when he was coaching at Hoover or at Georgia when he was coaching at Colquitt and he's just saying shite in an attempt to start controversy. It's a well-known fact he has always desired to coach at a major college football program.

Why do y'all keep using this as a counter to his credibility?

Who gives a shite what he does in his personal life? It's none of your business.

Saban was banging the governor's wife while at LSU. SHould we discredit his statements?
