I'm admitting nothing, because I have zero knowledge beyond what I've seen in the press (or, in reality, NOT seen in the press.). The only person "reporting" this is LSU's beat writer and there has been no independent verification. So based on what I've NOT seen in the press, I don't think SC talked to him at all and the kid and the reporter are full of it.
All I was saying is the word "recruiting" can have many meanings and I was asking LSU folks to define what it means for SC in this case...

Because suing to come back to college for year 6 so you can make $5m is fine, but leaving college because you played 4 years people are telling you you have to and then getting a couple thousand dollars before getting cut makes you a professional.

The whole sport has turned into a joke and is falling apart. It's basically a place for boosters to pay kids and NFL rejects to play football in a minor league without eligibility rules. The players don't even care about the schools or traditions anymore.
Just in a short time we've seen conferences wiped out. Schools being turned on by their conferences. NFL players playing in college. Years of eligibility being ignored.
It might as well separate from the schools and govern itself.

Both situations are players trying to circumvent being ruled ineligible by the NCAA, not a ton of difference.

Honestly, that's what I think this comes down to.
The SEC likely sees Pavia and Chambliss as one-off situations, where the good publicity will likely outweigh the bad. It's probably the opposite with the kids Lane signed, so we're seeing selective enforcement of eligibility rules by the conference.
