Why are LSU fans so enamoured with their former players' success in the NFL?

Some of their former players do pretty well and some not so well in the league, but they - more than any fan base out there - take more pride in NFL success to a weird degree.

If you were thinking logically, LSU fan, you would be upset that all of this talent is going to waste while on campus.

Maybe it's some weird swamp logic...

I think this thread deserves some introspection:

Why are Bama fans so butthurt with their former players' lack of success in the NFL?

Why do LSU fan support former players in the league? Idk, maybe because we have watched them for 3-4 years and want them to do well in life when they leave LSU?

LSU fans are just more loyal.

Congrats on the Wal-Mart t-shirt sales, though.

Yeah, when Patrick Peterson donated $1 million to LSU last week at only 25, I was embarrassed for everyone involved. Even worse is seeing Odell Beckham become the most hyped rookie in years.

I'm going to vomit when Ben Simmons is taken #1 overall in the NBA draft this spring. It'll be the nail in the coffin for LSU basketball.

It's hard not to root for our guys, especially when one just donated a cool Million back to the school that got him to the league in the first place..

Because it helps with recruiting, and most of the players are from LA so why wouldn't we support them? Oh, your stupid position that the players have underachieved. Yeah, we're so Vanderbilt when it comes to on the field success. SMH.

To answer the question, it's because LSU fans realize those players represent LSU and we like to see all things LSU succeed. As a Bama sidewalker I understand you don't comprehend that everytime you put on your elephant hat and yell roll tahd you're actually a representation of Alabama.

At least our fans know that isn't actually a word.

I think you're looking for "enamored".
