I agree with your post. Sometimes you actually take a loss of yards and it's not a bad thing. Not so much that you're hoping for your play to fail, but you may understand that it likely won't work but it's being used to set up something later.

I think some bosses still have the mentality of work above everything certainly and it's a very shortsighted view.
