Why are LSU fans so afraid of Alabama?

Maybe it has to do with the colors of the old Alabama uniforms.
which had to remind their coward forefathers of this:
I've always thought LSU fans started disliking Alabama when Saban arrived in Tuscaloosa. But, in retrospect, the fear and anguish they feel when facing Alabama may be much more ancient and ingrained in their DNA than previously thought.

Of course you would think that because those colors strike fear into your weak and surrendering bones.
Notice the pockets on the Alabama uniforms are reminiscent of the pouches carried by the English soldiers. They both served a similar purpose also, to collect the tears of Cajuns.
