the only way that jff doesn't win the Heisman is if he loses to lsu. other than that, it should be a done deal.

It was never my intention to suggest that I was not impressed with him, he has one helluva resume but the Heisman isn't a "career" award.

What starting QB's resume EVER in CFB is on par with what AJ has accomplished in his 3 years as a starter?

Winston or McCarron... The one that can remain undefeated will most likely win.

Winston. Dude can throw that pig skin a quarter mile. If coach had put him in in the 4th quarter, they'd have took state...I just know it.
Underrated post.

I think if they handed it out today Winston would get it but as it stands it is going to be up to Johnny.

Winston has looked a lot more average lately while the FSU D has been incredible. He isn't getting the picks and pitching shutouts or near shutouts. The FSU RB is also getting a lot of love.

Manziel is still putting up insane numbers every week. He came a hair away from another 500 yard game this week and dropped well over 400 yards passing and it was just expected. It's crazy the level he plays at.

More than that though, Manziel is going to have 2 more high profile games left that most of the country is going to be watching. A&M could very well be underdogs against both LSU and Mizzou and if he can find a way to win (which will almost certainly mean he plays out of his mind as usual) there is going to be a lot of pressure to give it to him. His stats are starting to really separate from the competition as well, the only thing hurting him are the picks.

Petty being a candidate is a joke. If there was ever a system QB it is him. Nick Florence had better stats really last year and he is a guy that didn't even go to the NFL Combine because he knew he would never play on Sundays. Hell Florence had better passing numbers than RGIII the year before and holds most of Baylor's all time passing records.

Why do you keep bringing up his past seasons? If you want to go down that road I will tell you that he will finish this season with less TD's and the same amount or potentially more interceptions than last season.

Again his entire body of work is extremely impressive, probably one of the most impressive I will ever see. However, this does not change the fact that the intent of the award is to reward the player who is having the most outstanding season, not career.

Secondly, who would you most like to have leading your offense in a fourth quarter when you're down by 7?

AJ McCarron.

If it was pure stats, Manziel should win but his inability to not throw INTs in his losses arguably is what is costing A&M a top 10 ranking

Or our complete lack of a competent offense.

No it goes to the most outstanding player. If he ends up winning out and ends up with more rings than losses I'd say he's pretty god damn outstanding player.

Mike Evans.

(and I know a wide receiver isn't going to get it, but that kid makes some amazing catches and it sucks because he'll be getting paid next year)

That is very arguable. Yes he makes some bad throws at bad times, but if they had anything resembling a SEC defense they wouldn't have to sling it around 40 or 50 times a game just to outscore everyone they play. I don't even think it's arguable that a terrible defense is what is costing A&M a top 10 ranking.

AJ McCarron
Especially if he leads Bama to the Title game again

To do what he's done in this conference is quite amazing. The SEC plays the toughest defense in the nation, the SEC has won the last 7 BCS titles, everyone is gunning for Bama weekly, and he still continues to deliver. Every time Bama has needed AJ McCarron to step up he has, that simple. AJ has shown unbelievable resiliency during the great come backs, and even in the few loses Bama has had with him at the helm. AJ McCarron has gotten Bama in position to win everyone of those games in the end. We Bama fans are lucky to have him leading our team.

Stats only tells 1/2 the story
AJ McCarron is the complete package

If A&M wins their next two games, Manziel probably wins it again. If A&M drops one, Winston probably wins it.
