Auburn and Tennessee? A couple of programs stuck in shitdom currently.

I'm going to say Tennessee. The Vols seem to be on a better path at the moment.

History suggests Auburn. They've proven that they can get hot with two or three stud players and some luck.

UTK has to be stacked in order to do the same.

Tennessee is in the bottom third of the SEC. Very below average to average program.

I’ll say Auburn since we are better located for recruiting from a geographic standpoint. With that being said, I don’t see either program winning jackshit besides a toilet bowl game over the next 5 years.

I’d say UT. With the mass exodus they had, they should’ve been fricking awful last year. Huepel did a great job

When was the last time Tennessee even came close to going to Atlanta in early December?

My vote is Auburn. They've proven over time they have the capacity to come back from what appears to be a program death spiral to a magical season in very short order.

For example:

1991: 5-6
1992: 5-5-1
1993: 11-0 and a #4 finish

1998: 3-8
1999: 5-6
2000: 9-4 SEC West Champs

2008: 5-7
2009: 8-5
2010: 13-0 National Champs

2012: 3-9
2013: 12-2 SEC Champs, NC Game Appearance

I mean we see the same script every few years so I don't know why anyone would be surprised for it to happen again.

Meanwhile Tennessee doesn't have a Top 20 finish since 2007 and no Top 10 finishes since 2001.

That's tough. AU has by FAR been closer over the last decade, at least making the SECCG and beating bama a few times. they are on a downward path now though. TN has been atrocious but appears to be somehwat on the upswing, but unfortuantely will have to play uga/bama every year for a shot at it, then if/when they do win the east would likely play bama again.

Honestly it's going to be so long before either team wins it next it's impossible to guess. I guess gun to my head though I'll go AU

Why would I want any of these two fricktards to win anything?

They are both kind of a mess right now. I guess Auburn's mess just started and Tennessee has been trying to clean it up for over 2 decades now. So, I am betting on Tennessee....for now.

I think both of them have a good chance of getting it done before Aggy, but I see a glimmer of hope in our future.

NIL is not going to be kind to Auburn. My fear is that we will be irrelevant until such time that they get a handle on these NIL rules. That being said, one of the Big Ten schools or the Pac 12 schools is going to sue the NCAA on a Title IX basis and frick some shite up. Kind of hoping for that.Otherwise football is going to be a two or three team race and going to lose popularity. It already has been waning.

Tennessee feels more likely to get into the SECCG, as the East (save for Georgia) has a much easier path. The West is more talented overall, so even when a team upsets Alabama, there's no assurance they can still win enough games to represent the West.

Auburn hands down the better team. Auburn knows how to win and win big.

Even in a horrible year like now, we took Alabama in OT. Its happened how many times that we bounce back when no one expects it.

We beat the Alabama and Georgia the last time they played a National title, with Auburn getting a share of the SEC WEST.

I will admit TN will win the offseason with all these Bammers in here.

2007.

Tennessee has finished second in the East twice since then, but was two games back of the division winner each time.

I guess you're forgetting the game the Tide and Dawgs played earlier this month.

Part of me wants to say Auburn since they have shown an ability to play in Atlanta, win in Atlanta, play for a NC, and win a NC all since the last time UTK did any of that, but the SEC West is a meat grinder.

SEC East might be rising back up, but right now Auburn's side of the conference is much more difficult to navigate.

Tank Bigsby is the lone stud player on that roster as of today's date. Of course they could possibly pull a few 5*'s on NSD in a couple of weeks.

Several other SEC teams can/will win another title before either of those do. But if I had to pick, I'd say UT. Seems like they're at least headed in the right direction. I don't have the slightest idea what Harsin is trying to do at Auburn right now.
