It’s obvious that Clemp wants in very badly, to the point they have a palpable complex about it, but I’ve been observing the sooners and they constantly, almost maniacly tend to frame all of their discussions and arguments with a ‘as compared to the SEC’ context. This goes beyond the ‘living in their head’ mantra, this is pure jealousy.
Who wants in more?
Im gonna stick with Clemson but damn if OU isn’t a close second.

Sooners are sick and tired of all the "SEC Bias in the Media".
It's neverending right?
Let's apply some Hannibal Lector logic here...
What does a man covet?
He covets what he sees...

Clemson has faired well against the SEC as of late. They have owned Auburn and South Carolina, and beaten LSU and Alabama recently. They aren’t scared of a challenge. I admire that.

Because the conference is so easy to win Georgia did it?

Based on the posters that come here sounds like both fanbases would cut off a nut just to sit with the cool kids

Clemson is a natural fit for the SEC.
Oklahoma is not.
Oklahoma is not.

Oklahoma is like a Woman stuck in an abusive relationship. "Texas isn't that bad you guys, yea they ruined the Big XII but they didn't mean it, things just got out of hand. It'll get better." They're still in denial. They talk to their friends and boyfriend's exes but still can't come to grips with the truth and figure out what they want.
Clemson on the other hand, is thirsty AF.

I hate to steal your moment, but what can the SEC offer that Clemson already doesn't have? We are at the top of the food chain in football and are extremely competitive in most sports. The one sport we suck at is basketball and perhaps we would do a little better in the SEC if we wanted to be a basketball school.
Clemson is about Clemson. Most SEC schools all consider themselves as one big program rather than 14 schools. I guess that is good for those programs that have little chance of competing at the highest levels in football. Those programs can just sponge off more successful SEC schools and claim it as their own. You know who you are.
2 of our biggest historical rivals (UGA and USC) are in the SEC and they are less than a tank of gas away from Clemson so we are going to naturally interact in the spirit of that rivalry more than many of the ACC Schools.
The ACC is just a league. For the most part we really don't care if the other schools win or lose unless it helps Clemson. I guess the ACC schools that we play on our schedule each year needs to do well for SOS, but we really don't care beyond that.
Clearly being in the ACC hasn't affected our ability to compete outside of conference. Our performance against the other top Power 5 Schools (particularly the SEC) under the Dabo era is solid.
I would like to know realistically know why you think Clemson would want to be in the SEC? Aside from money, which Clemson has plenty of, what else can the SEC offer that we don't have?

Clemson fore sure. They've got a taste of the good life and in all honesty they'd fit right in with their play the last few seasons, they've been great. I'll always hate OU for what happened in 04' but I'm still melting like a bitch so I'll take an OU over UGA lol. It'll be a great game and I'll be glued to it I'm sure.

Jimbo stood a better chance of beating Clemson at FSU vice Aggy.

You've got a point but you're wrong about the SEC schools not being about the conference as a whole for one. Also from top to bottom the SEC has been the strongest for a while despite some losses on the big stage as of late.

Whether Clemson wants in or not, they won't be invited. They bring absolutely NOTHING to the table, and their brand is nothing to write home about, so....
Besides, we already got too many "tigers" in the league.

Taters have always been jealous of the SEC

Yeah, regular road trips to Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, and Auburn are no more desirable than trips to Wake Forest, North Carolina, Duke, Virginia, and Syracuse. I’m sure you’re right.

The SEC East desperately needs good teams or the conference will eventually implode

Nice job of cherry-picking. You picked 3 stadiums for teams in the Coastal that we rarely play because the ACC is set up like the SEC with 14 teams and a 8-game Conference rotation.
You left out Florida State, Virginia Tech, even places like Louisville, GT and Miami are good road trips...
Every year we are going to play 2 SEC teams. We have to play Carolina, but we just finished a home and home with Auburn and We will next move on to Texas A&M...Hell, we have played Auburn and Alabama move than some teams in the SEC in the last few years...
Then there is those road trips we have been attending called Conference Title Games and College Football Playoff games that are pretty good road trips...you know those because just Like SEC_Bama, ACC-Clemson has enjoyed the same thing.
Also, you left out places like Vanderbilt, Commonwealth Stadium,Davis Wade Stadium...
I love competing with the SEC, but we don't need to be in the SEC as our roots are with the ACC as a founding member and in case you haven't noticed, it's doing ok.
There is only one SEC team I would like on our regular schedule and that's Georgia. We used to play them every year and was a lot of fun even though they have the overall.
