Does the SEC need Bama more than Bama needs the SEC?

I doubt it.

Alabama football doesn't need anyone, but the other sports would suffer tremendously. We also don't have the academic reputation to survive without a combined conference effort.

The SEC could just add Texas and wouldn't miss a beat.

Bama to the NFC South?

The SEC is more than one team. Everyone needs the SEC more.

A better question would be which fanbase resents Bama more.

They did win a national title after leaving the SEC.

Great question to ponder a response to these days. Does anyone know when the SEC joined Bama?

Even without the Tide, the SEC is still far and away the most prestigious conference.

Think about it - tBig Six are still all top fifteen programs all time.

Well, no one's asking this question regarding any other program in the conference. Speaks volumes, IMO.

They both need each other equally IMO. Alabama is usually the first team people think about when they hear the term SEC. But, as Notre Dame has proven, you need a conference to call home in order to be consistently relevant in this day and age.

Without Bama, SEC refs have to get part-time jobs.
