bend and break defense
I've heard of the bend-but-don't-break defense and can say this approach definitely seems worse.

On behalf of Tiger Nation, let me nominate Matt House and the bend and break defense which is currently 12th in the SEC and more impressively 110 or something like that in the nation on 3rd down conversions
Yet moo state managerd a mere..... 6pts?????????

But…Saturday I watched Ole Miss get steamrolled by a team that doesn’t have a QB.
No you didn't. You watched Ole Miss give up about 350 yards of offense and only have about 2 busts. Defense played more than well enough to win.

Up until last weekend I would have said Durkin. But his defense flat arse shut down Auburn last weekend especially in the second half. Leaving us with even more questions. Is Auburn that bad? Is the Aggie defense finally starting to play up to its potential? Or was that just a lucky day?
Auburn’s offense was putrid. I think you are jumping the gun on removing Durkin’s name from consideration.

So now there is 3rd and House. (which is really kinds catchy)
before there was 3rd and Grantham
before that was 3rd and Chavis
any others?

defense bend and sometimes don’t break
The last time one of our coaches said this was Lou Tepper and that didn’t work out to well

Statistically? Probably Matt Brock
Who is doing less with more? Matt House

Could be worse...you could have Clayton White, who ranks last in most categories.
He also gave up more yards to Rodgers than anyone else has...and rodgers was just in an air raid system...

Blitz like hell and hope we get to the QB.

The DC at Tennessee called a horrible game against Florida. He has to be among the worst.

Durkin and it’s not close.
Only Bama and Georgia have equal talent.
And it’s night and day between those teams and the execution of A&M.
Yards allowed per game:
1. A&M 273.8
2. UGA 282.3
3. Bama 306.0

he’d rather the defense bend and sometimes don’t break
8 TDs and 5 FGs given up in 14 red zone defensive tries sounds like breaking to me

Yup this isn’t even close. It’s jurkin for sure.

Probably a little bit of both.

Two of those teams have not played AU yet.
Expect Georgia to pass you this week.

He is all world on 1st and 2nd down. It’s 3rd down against mobile qb’s that get him.

Three of the four teams we’ve played don’t even have a pulse.

That's easy. Pete Golding. We wanted him gone for years. He did have some really good games as Bama's DC but his defenses were wildly inconsistent and the worst part was the fundamentals were terrible. And that delaed blitz was horrible. it was like having only 10 men on defense. When Bama played a team with a great offense our only chance at winning was to outscore them because we knew there was no way Golding could even slow them down. Perfect example is giving up 52 to Tennessee last year. And a couple weeks later a real DC over in Athens shut Tennessee down.
