A&M, while not necessarily in line with what I'd consider the geographic South, at least has fit into the culture pretty well.

Texas is literally a Southern state. We can debate Kentucky or Missouri. While lots of the culture sets it apart, that doesn't change geography, history, or facts. Please stop the madness.

Clemson and VPI are right now. NC St could be with coaching; for students and alums, not players.

Washington University. If they ever got their athletics going again, they'd kick the sheet out of Vanderbilt.

Stop using a Brad Pittish avatar... he went to Mizzou you whore.

Tennessee and Kentucky are Appalachian. Nobody asked if it was Southern, they asked if it was SEC. So WVU should be okay.

Texas sucks butt, so I'll just leave it at that.

Penn State is not at all SEC. They have Quakers, pacifists, and seriously amazing baked goods.

Mizzou is southern and midwestern. Personally, I'm a yankee, so this bothers me, but spend some time in Sikeston or the southwestern part of the state and you'll figure it out soon enough.

Can't argue on OU. They're basically in New Mexico and about as far from rivers, swamps, or ocean as one can imagine.

I could see NC State not wanting to play third fiddle to the UNC-Duke rivalry and hopping in the conference.

However, and I know it doesn't improve footprint, but I'd love Georgia Tech to come back in.

Clemson... Penn State really isn't SEC-ish, like at all. Completely different environment

To me, the #1 criteria for being "SEC-ish" is having an absolute obsession with football.

Based on that as being my primary purpose of evaluation, I would say the non-SEC teams most like the SEC are:

(1) Florida State
(2) Clemson
(3) Ohio State
(4) Oklahoma

I will disagree on the geography and leave it at that.

Culturally, I agree. I could move to Louisiana, Miss, Alabama, Georgia, or Florida, and it would feel like I just moved to the next city over. It's practically the same culture. We have a spice of Mexican up in here, but every southern state has it's own little twist.

What's with all of the WVU love? It makes zero sense to me.

For me, it would have to be an acc school. FSU, CLEMSON, VIRGINIA, VT, UNC, NC STATE, etc.
