To follow up on this: I know it's amusing to shite all over Orgeron, and I'm not sold that he is a long-term solution, but since he became interim HC, LSU is 10-4 in SEC play. That is the exact same record as Kirby Smart in that time frame. It is one game behind Gus. The next closest record in that time frame is UF at 8-6. So, at the moment, and given what other SEC coaches are paid, it seems like a pretty reasonable salary

You are right. But sometimes the "eye test" just overwhelms facts. And facts can be very misleading. He will get his chance.

He's doing this at LSU, who just 2 years ago was the only and had been the only SEC program to play level with Bama for 8 years, even though they lost the vast majority, they could have won every one but 21-0. They were almost Alabama's equal, despite the record. Now, despite some fans' understandable hope and protestations, you are hardly even a shadow of that program. Everyone but y'all can see it. But not blaming y'all, most everyone is the same in that regard. A few of us are actually even pulling for you but know there is no genuine hope with O. Maybe a game or even a season - Mike DuBose won an SEC Champ and beat Spurrier's UF twice in one season at UF and in the SECC game.

Wish you well - IMO, it's just not going to happen with O.

0 has proved himself as a HC and should be getting paid more than Pruitt.

Everyone of those guys are WAY overpaid.

But, unfortunately, it's the cost of doing college football business these days.

You can be willing to pay someone 10 grand to mow your lawn, it doesn't mean that they're not being overpaid.

I would say that if someone is making more than another person who has been astronomically more successful, then they are being overpaid.

But we don’t pay people 10 grand to mow a lawn so that is a pointless hypothetical.

If some coach made say $40 million a year and the rest made sub $10 million you would maybe have a point, but the highest paid (per year) coach in college football isn’t even on the list in the OP.

That means no SEC coach is overpaid. All are paid market rates or close to it.

Is overpaying really a thing if you can afford it?

The fact that Jimbo makes more than Saban is laughable
