You picked the counter example.

Hal Mumme and Mike Leach developed the spread before they got to Kentucky.

They began developing it at Iowa Wesleyan. They then moved to Valdosta State because Mike Leach visited the campus and saw the swimming pool next to the football offices.

Mumme, Leach, and Guy Morris were all at VSU with Chris Hatcher as the QB.

Woody Widenhofer at Vandy. Dude was the DC for the Steel Curtain defense in Pittsburgh’s heyday.

Gene chizik, the man has a natty and I always forget he existed it felt like Gus was there from 2009-20. Honorable mention Gene stallings, gets overshadowed by saban and bear era success.

John L Smith might be the most under appreciated, widely loved and amazingly ridiculous coach to have never been. Him and Joe Kines HAVE to be twins

Dude absolutely tanked everything saban built at Michigan St in less than three years. He was handed the healthiest arky program since the 70s, and tanked it. He did great at Louisville and is adequately appreciated

Gerry Dinardo is a good option, at least for LSU. Some success, but followed absolute failures, and was followed Saban and Miles.

Where did he play as a linebacker in college and later coached there?

Most forgettable? Multiple times I have forgotten that Harsin coached at Auburn if that counts. I still think of him when I think of Boise State, but that's it.

Yeah ! Pitiful arse Mizzou is 2-2 vs powerhouse LSU ? That can't be right can it ? I figured the Bayou Braggarts would be undefeated?

List your national championships again... oh, that's right, you don't care about such things.

In my lifetime, Guy Morriss has to be the most forgettable former UK coach. Took over for 2 seasons after Claude Bassett got busted trying to pay players while Hal Mumme was coach. Morriss left for Baylor after just 2 seasons. Kinda chapped my arse at the time as I had just started school at UK.

"such" things

What day was the parade and ceremonial gala where LSU baseball surrendered their
Reigning National Champions crown to Oklahoma ?

Ahhh the majestical pomp and circumstance !

Did all the LSU players and coaches have to bow down and kiss the rings of their successors ?

Ole trumansfags.... you just mad and upset, but it's ok.

I tell yah fella, you keep your one and only 1954 baseball natty... that you probably didn't witness and I'll enjoy the 8 nattys that I've watched LSU win.

And your 2-2 football record against LSU... congratulations and i bet you're one of those that would prefer to be leading that series as opposed to winning something meaningful, like an SEC and/or National Championship. Something your school knows nothing about.

Bo Rein - never coached in a game because he died in a plane crash

Hal Hunter - coached one game and won

Brad Davis - coached in a Covid bowl game and lost
