In general, Texas’ alumni base is hard to please. But the Texas grads I know like CDC.
All NCAA men’s and women’s sports that Texas offers are expected to do well and are supported financially. CDC aggressively recruits top coaches. In addition to Director’s Cup successes, men’s football, basketball, and baseball are all looking up IMO.
Plus with pre-game concerts, the Bevo parade, etc., CDC has improved the football home game day experience.
There are reasons why aggy frequently complains about CDC, ha…

Just depends on if Pete would've given up 37 points again.
???? Lane’s offense had 13 yards in the 4th quarter of that game. I do know Lane couldn’t get it done while Pete could. Literal direct comparison game that is unavoidable.

Ole Miss only scored 4 more points in the rematch.
The difference is giving up 43 points the first time around.

Ole Miss got better on defense when Golding became DC.
Ole Miss Rank in the SEC in Pts Allowed
Pre Golding - average 10th
2020: 14th
2021: 8th
2022: 9th
Post Golding - average 5th

2025: 9th

Yeah the head coach that day (lane) told his DC to run a three man front against a team lining up in a two TE set and a power back. All day. Pete wanted to get out of that set but Lane told him to keep running prevent against a team averaging 6 yards a carry.
Gonna be sad watching lsu become a finesse team that can’t stop teams like Kentucky on defense.

As crazy as it sounds I expect the defense to be the strength of the team this season. DLine is stout and the back 7 has been upgraded tremendously.
Pete’s D in 2024 was good enough to go to the natty with iowas offense.

Greg Byrne got community noted by X for his weird melt after 9-3 Alabama missed the playoff in 2024, outside of his Oats bball hire, dude's a total clown

Yea Saban recommended Houston Nutt to succeed him at LSU.
If true, that would have been pretty cool, I loved Nutt's offenses at Arky and Ole Miss, so creative

So, Del Conte sucks for winning the Directors cup 3 of 4 years and having
highest value athletic program in the country by 14 million???
So, if he sucks for that, how do you rank Trev Alberts?

Is this like when you swore Lane was definitely staying?

It is crazy to think Ole Miss could only score 10 points against Kentucky that season. That game is what cost Ole Miss a playoff berth.

Selmon has a long way to go before being considered best in the SEC, but his stock is certainly rising.

Danny White sucks
All of the above would have rolled over for the NCAA on the private jet thing with Nico.

Everything he’s done since then
Rode the success of hires he didn’t make, and now that he’s in a position to hire replacements, his inadequacies are on full display.
Heupel is his only good hire and that one looks more middling every day that passes.
Baseball and women’s hoops were atrocious decisions. He’s the highest paid AD in the league. First to introduce the 10% talent fee on top of all the other money they try to siphon from the fanbase. I could go on all day
See the post above.
All the ADs were money grubbing from the fans other than Fulmer, and he was awful at everything else.
Mike Hamilton hired Lane Kiffin over Gary Patterson because Kiffin blew smoke up his arse about fund raising.

Lots of great AD’s in the conference right now. Cant say who’s the best. But can say with confidence that Scott Stricklin is the worst.
