Maybe the back half of the decade, but LSU was solid from 2012-2017 and it seems they are definitely on the incline with the moves Jay Johnson is making.
-#1 incoming freshmen class
-Elite Incoming transfers
-Elite incoming pitching coach who was former SEC pitching coach and did very well before MLB stint.

He had an elite transfer portal last year.

The last 2 seasons we made it to the Super Regionals which was in my mind an over achievement.
Are you sure?
think we passed the LSU bus heading back from the Hattiesburg regional

We were lacking starting pitching this year, which Johnson has already remedied with the portal and a stud pitching coach.
We are clearly trending in the right direction with Jay Johnson

Did you see LSUs pitching staff this season?
Their ace was a 5th year senior that throws 88 mph.
Leave it to the Ole Miss fan finally on top for a year to downgrade the obvious signs that Jay Johnson has something brewing at LSU. I want to be happy for Ole Miss fans but am also fine watching Johnson, Schloss and other hungrier, younger coaches run circles around the guy you wanted fired 30 days ago now that he’s content and got his lifetime contract.

I understand about pitching.
We rode a freshman lefty that sits around 89, and juco transfer.
Problem is, everybody going into the portal now.
Good luck!

Can promise you I never wanted him fired….
He most likely woulda gotten LSU to Omaha if he’d been hired.
He woulda made sure he had pitching, pretty much a necessity in the SEC. JJ will learn that, which is why MB lost to him last year, 1st rounder went down with elbow surgery mid season, left us with one ace

Naw bruh.... you gotta attempt to catch something in order to drop it. That play wasn't a fluke.... it was three dumbasses that cost Arky a National Championship.

Lulz. College baseball is measured in CWS appearances and titles. Bama is dead last followed by Auburn
Auburn is the better program right now no doubt but there is no planet where Auburn is better than Alabama all-time, which is what you’re saying here. All you’ve demonstrated here is that you started watching baseball like three years ago.

No, it was one guy- God bless him- trying to be the hero and ran over to the ball like the Tasmanian devil that caused it. Or a higher power that made him run over to the ball like the Tasmanian devil- one or the other. It was really just awkward as hell and I can’t really put the blame on the other two.

The top 5 in the West are neck-and-neck every year. Toughest division in just about anything out there.

I doubt that. This LSU pitching staff was awful.

Top 4 in the west is borderline top 10.

In a historical sense, I think Auburn at #7 is fair. In a current program situation, I think #5 or #6 is correct. 11.7 hammers us and Bama more than the rest of the division
the mississippi schools also have 11.7

Because they can’t catch foul pop ups

Arkansas is better than us now, but overall history we're probably a bit better with two runner-ups
Arkansas has 2 runner-ups as well. Arkansas' overall baseball history is better than Bama's.

Not too concerned about history. If you ask me which program is positioned the best right now, I’d say Texas A&M, based on recent program success, coaching, and planned
capital investments.
If there’s any actual downside, I’m not aware of it.
