I hope it's Sumlin, because that means we had a good year.

If that doesn't happen, I can't imagine there being a better option than Kelly.

Clearly D

I guess 2nd choice is A, possibly B if it means we had a killer year this year.

Why would anyone want Morris over Kubiak? I don't get that.

I think Morris is a good candidate, but his resume is thin compared to Kubiak.

If SMU wins 10 or more games, Morris will have orchestrated one of the greatest recent turnarounds in CFB history. I get that folks wanna see what he can do in a P5 conference, but the problem is that door may shut depending on who hires him. If A&M passes on him, there damn well better be someone else lined up that is still hungry and will do better than Sumlin. I like Morris and think he will do great things, but a lot of shortsighted folks seem to think he is only getting serious consideration because is an alumnus. Nope nope nope.

Speaking of defensive coaches, if PITT keeps improving this year, then ya gotta go after Pat Narduzzi. He would change the culture at A&M and with the right staff maybe win the West. No matter what his teams would be tough.

We've already had one former NFL coach with 1-2 good years under his belt (Mike Sherman). Do we really need another? One with health problems at that?

Besides, Kubiak isn't going to coach again. The Houston Texans were his dream job, then the Denver Broncos job was his other dream job. He left on his terms. He's done.

They will try and hire either Dave Arranda, or Matt Canada from LSU.

We all know Dan Mullen is the leading candidate but he isn't going anywhere because he loves Starkville and the bulldogs.

Who is the last coach to leave one SEC school for another
I know it has happen in the PAC 12 with Steve Sarkisian but do not remember a lot of other occurances in the same conference

Isn't he a Texas outsider

I know CU isn't know for paying their coaches but at his age you think he would leave a sure thing for a job that he may end up being fired from in 3 years

CU is no longer in a position to win championships, unless a complete change of administration were to take place combined with a "win at all costs" attitude.

Combined with a nice increase in pay I can see a guy like McIntyre taking his shot at the big time. If he falls short like everyone else at A&M he still has all the money he'll ever need and know he gave it a shot.

Don't know if McIntyre is a guy happy with a "solid" program or a guy who got into the business to win it all.
A&M despite no skins on the wall does provide the oppty and they have proven to mitigate risks by offering enough guaranteed retirement money.

A&M has a pretty solid fall back guy if they can't lure in a home run hire.. Chad Morris. Not a bad hire IMO.

They'll try to get Kelly but will end up with Morris in the end. They will continue being mediocre while big brothers Texas and LSU laugh at them.

Depends on your definition: Saban did it but Miami was in between. Nutt left Arkansas and landed in Oxford. Tuberville left Ole Miss in a pine box and went to Auburn.

Kubiak is an interesting idea. He made his NFL career in eastern Texas, he's a very good defensive coach, he is a Super Bowl champion, and can pitch NFL success to recruits. I don't know if he will take a job though since he's had health issues, but A&M has the money to make it happen.
