Who is LSU's QB2 and what is his ceiling and floor?

Honest question. I have no idea, but given the situation with Nuss it becomes a pertinent subject.

Van Buren, who started for MSU last year.

Van Buren is #2 but Nuss is fine, not sure why everyone all of sudden thinks the dude is done

because no one knows the severity of his injury. It could be meh or it could be serious requiring weeks to months to heal.

The team without a viable option at QB2 is the already-anointed-just-not-yet-crowned national champion Texas,.
They lose the Arch and it'll be open season on the horns.

He was literally back at practice today and practicing some
Seems to be totally fine and something very manageable

Look up patella tendonitis treatment. It depends on how severe it is. He could miss some time or even need surgery if it is severe enough.

Kelly laid it out all in detail today. Said it's a 1.5 on a 1-10 scale, he was litierally practicing today and will again tomorrow.
It's simply a matter of management and tons of players deal with this kind of stuff. It would probably be more noteworthy if it was a RB or WR, but we're talking about Nuss here who barely ever runs the ball. Worst case is someone hits the knee just right or something to that effect, but he's obviously just fine right now if he's practicing already.

That may be. I haven't watched his presser yet.

Have you ever had an injured tendon with lots of micro tears? There are only two things that allow that to heal:
1. lots of rest and no repetitive motions on it for weeks to months at a time
or
2. surgery
Nuss is fine right now but the end of the season might be interesting.

That was supposed to change a bit this year.

According to the internet, it takes 1-2 months of rest and inactivity for moderate patellar tendonitis to heal. The worst thing to do is rush it, that just makes it worse and can lead to a more severe injury. Again, that is just what the internet says.
It is true that a lot of people suffer from tendonitis. But most of them aren’t starting SEC quarterbacks.

Nuss is a tough gunslinger. Look for him to start. Run for 140 on 8 carries vs Clemson too.
This real injury situation, then proven fake, then proven real again, is probably fake. Smoke and mirrors before the Clemson game. Remember Clemson broke the injury news.

Yes, Sark has been neglecting QB recruiting. He’s also been cavalier with having a backup ready to go, probably because he’s never had a starter miss any time while he’s been at Texas. One of these days he’s going to learn the hard way.

I say supposedly, because the guy was dog shite, and my skinny arse beat him on the boards more often than not. I think he made up that injury to explain why he sucked. He also said he had narcolepsy which is why he fell asleep in film and team meetings.

he also revealed nuss has had it since 2023 he just aggravated a bit and there not even sure when it happened ,it wasnt an obvious injury . he didnt miss any time from it last year but I do remember him limping here and there and it wasnt an ankle

The biggest thing Kelly said that stuck out to me was that Nussmeier had surgery on that knee in 2023, be was vague but it sounded like surgery on his patella, and this was just lingering effects.
I wouldn’t think one should still be having lingering effects two years later if it was fixed.
But I am no doctor.
