Exactly. It's kind of infuriating when ESPN points something like that out and yet they suck Bama off and go along with their claim to a national title a year when they lost 4 games.

ESPN recognizes us as 64 champs, but we don't claim the 65 and 77 titles we were awarded.

you're focused a lot on ancient history. Sewanee has winning records against Auburn, Georgia, GT and Ole Miss... does that make them their little brother? Clemson won most of their ACC championships in the 45 years since SC left the ACC. Actually, they won most of them in the 80 and early 90s when they were on probation every other year and before FSU joined the ACC. Clemson has never won a ACC basketball championship, which SC has. The Roman Empire lasted for more than 500 years, but it doesn't come close to what Uncle Sam has done in a little over 200 years.

AU is bama's daddy in every way except on the field since saban got there. We were their daddy for 2.5 decades before that as well.

It has less to do with a few recent football games, and more to do with the overall feeling from the public at large. No one would ever mistake Bama for your little brother.
I don't really get a feeling on Clemson/USC either way, but Miss. State, AU, and A&M are all obvious little bros.
