If Jimbo accepts nothing less than excellence, then why did he crash Florida State?

What does that have to do with my question?

Another thread about A&M started by an lsu fan. Surprise surprise

10 of YOUR last 11 threads have been about LSU. Only one that wasn’t was when you asked if Bama could beat the Jets.

So you’re obsessed with LSU but still choke on some gump cock every chance you get

Then why did we fire Fran the day he beat a Mack Brown Texas team for the 2nd straight time?

There are two that stand out - Sherrill was the best coach A&M had for a long time, since Bryant. However, Fisher is recruiting at JS level now, and it set to exceed that in the next few years.

RC continued what JS had built, but his Bowl record was absolutely terrible. A&M wandered in the wilderness for awhile after firing him.

Example as to why no one considers t-sips smart or cognitively strong.

Franchione was A&M's coach in 2011? Pretty sure he was fired after beating t.u. 38-30 in 2007.

The obsession goes both ways these days. It’s fair to say we’re becoming rivals. It was just a matter of time.

Bear had a 25–14–2 overall record although he was somewhat handcuffed by the racist Aggie leadership.

In the 8 years prior to Bryant, Aggies had 6 losing seasons. One was winless.

Bryant had to establish a culture of winning that meant razing the program and starting over. It started with his 10 days of hell in Junction, Tx for fall camp. 9 of those 14 losses were from his first season, which was his only losing season in 38 years as a HC. He went 10-0-1 just two years later with a Cotton Bowl win.

Coincidentally, Bear's 1954-1957 record at aTm is very similar to that of Saban's at Bama. Culture changing disaster of a season, marked improvement in year 2 (2nd place in Conf), undefeated season yr 3, and a slight step back with a 3 loss season in yr 4.

The sample size is small, but I don't think it would be entirely incorrect to argue that he was the best coach Aggie had.

We ended up being ranked higher last year than any Sumlin year.

Our best coach was Homer Norton.

A&M was 8-0 and ranked #1 when Bryant announced he was leaving for Alabama. They finished that season 8-3.
