Who do you think was the best SEC national champion since 1998?

Contenders
1998 Tennessee
2003 LSU
2006 Florida
2007 LSU
2008 Florida
2009 Alabama
2010 Auburn
2011 Alabama
2012 Alabama
2015 Alabama

I would go with 2008 Florida but I am bias towards offense. They had a great defense to go along with it. 2012 Alabama is another strong contender (remember, the SEC was insanely stacked in 2012)

Congrats on a solid 20 years of football, SEC.

2009 Bama. They went undefeated and beat Texas in the championship game. Unbeatable, and unbelievable

2012 Bama also had a good defense

This guy gets it. Had some close calls, but overall, that team was stacked at just about every position excluding QB. I believe that team is still the only one to face the #1 and #2 team in the country both in a row (Florida/Texas).

Our fricking kicker was an all American. Like...what is life.

I'm going to avoid the homer pick which takes the numbers down a bit

that 2008 Florida team was known for Tebow Tebow Tebow but it was the most complete Urban Meyer Florida team and could wreck you at pretty much every position

You lose that argument if you lose a game in the regular season.

08 Florida and 12 Bama are probably 1A and 1B. Both teams should have gone undefeated.

This is the answer

No discussion of the best SEC teams of this century is complete without these teams.

Not really.

I think 2008 Florida was a better team than any of those undefeated SEC teams. Someone may disagree and that's fine. I just don't think being undefeated necessarily holds more weight when that UF team ultimately accomplished the same goal while winning every game by multiple scores.
