We aren't the ones looking for a coach.

Florida had a meeting this morning.

They won’t fire Billy right away, but they called Sexton. The back channel calls will start this week.

You would be stupid not to think about contingencies.

If the portal didn't exist, and you had to recruit elite high school talent to win big...FL would prob have more potential than OM

But in this day of the portal...I can't think of one single reason to go to that place.

In fact I think there's a better chance that Kiffen takes your superstar freshman QB out of the portal after yall fire your 4th coach in the row and make another stupid hire

They will probably replace their AD.

That will help to clean up some things.

I have no dog in the fight so I guess I am truly objective.... Why would he leave where he is? He's doing very well right where he is. Is there some magical benefit to coaching Florida that I am not aware of?

Florida would have to buyout Napier, buyout Kiffin and his entire staff, and then have to offer him a Jimbo/BK type of contract for him to go into a situation that's a complete rebuild. I don't see that happening. Kiffin is getting paid very well, has his entire family in Oxford, and has full reign over an entire program here. If it were a program like Alabama, yeah, he'd bolt.

Kiffin and Ole Miss sold out for this year. He better go to the portal next year and get every single top dog there is because you’re literally about to be decimated. Time will tell if your recipe is the way to go for the future of the program, long-term. But, unfortunately yes a team that has never even been to Atlanta is not going to hold on to Kiffin when it comes to a program like Florida. don’t think they don’t have plenty of money to spend there as well in the portal. It’s really one of the funniest things ever when I hear Ole Miss fans actually believe there is no chance this happens.

This is a perfectly rational thought, but if Lane wants to win a natty he's going to Gainesville.

prior to 2024 I would agree with you 100%

12-team CFP means essentially anyone on a hot streak can win it all, all you have to do is get in

What is up with this narrative

Kiffin has finally built a program

Kiffin is the most overrated coach in the SEC because he has virtually no track record to justify his “he’s a very dangerous coach” reputation, that he had well before Ole Miss. Even with the last 2 seasons, he’s still overrated. He does not have a track record that shows him to be anything other than an above average coach. Before 2022 his track record was that of a below average coach.

He now has a chance to prove that he’s not a total fraud. He’d be an idiot to give that up.

I have zero responsibility to do this. Our AD is paid to handle these things. You act like we aren't used to this yet repeatedly Kiffin has stated that he's happy in Oxford, has called it home, talks about moving his son to Oxford next year, has his daughter at Ole Miss, has his mom living in Oxford, has his brother on the staff. I just don't see him leaving except for an NFL position, which is a real possibility.

I get that opposing fans like to fan the flames of the rumor mill but most of us are just laughing. We may be wrong but I don't see him going to work for Scott Stricklin at that dumpster fire of a coaches graveyard program.

Sure, Florida will make him say "no" and will put up some money, but he's expensive and there are intangibles that they will have to include. With all of the benefits and incentives that he has in his salary at Ole Miss, he's likely to clear $12 million this season alone. Even if Florida made him the highest paid coach, they would still have to contend with Ole Miss' NIL commitment.
