For Texas, I'd have to say Baylor and Texas Tech, but especially Baylor.
They think they're better in athletics, academics, and class, when they are horrific at all three.
At least Tech realizes that they're nothing more than a safety school for stupid, hot, infected women.

I wouldn't say UAB is #2. If it was up to them they'd break out of the UA system. Of course, why would bama let them do that with their great med school program. I think the better answer is Samford or Birmingham-Southern. Everybody I know that went to one of those schools was always trying to justify why it's just as fun to attend as UA and AU.....then to top that ones an overprice baptist school and the other one is an overpriced liberal arts school

I hate to defend Auburn but they aren't a second-tier school at all. They have a top 15 football program historically for Christ's sake. A better example to use would be UAB or Troy.
I think on a couple he put that it's a toss up between 2 schools, and didn't put a tier 2.

I agree. Calling AU second tier would be saying more about Bama's success than Auburns lack of success.

There really isn't one for SC. Clemson is a/b even w/ us in most respects although they're increasingly concerned a/b the SEC leaving them in the dust. CofC doesn't have a football team and is pretty self-contained. Furman, Wofford... nah. I personally dislike the kids at The Citadel, though.
