Would you like to compare CWS TV ratings to Women's Final Four TV ratings?

Does this post officially mark the beginning of UT-K's tenure as Little Bro?

1955 Le Mans Disaster
"The 1955 Le Mans disaster occurred during the 1955 24 Hours of Le Mans motor race, when a crash caused large pieces of racing car debris to fly into the crowd. Eighty-three spectators and driver Pierre Levegh died at the scene and 120 more were injured in the most catastrophic accident in motorsport history."

Maybe Amateur athletics would once again return to that as opposed to this glorified professional football minor league we see today.
It would, and we would all stop watching. I say it over and over every time this subject comes up, but the model you are talking about already exists: It's called Division III. Major athletic programs have already done as you suggest; I'm sure you'd have no problems getting tickets to a University of Chicago or Sewanee football game.

That's my ultimate conclusion. I think one side will have to dominate the other to ensure peace.
IDK why they don't just split into 3 countries; seems like what everyone wants. I guess because that isn't what is in our best geopolitical interests.

In theory a federal system that allowed self rule for each sect would dampen conflict.
In Theory. I can't think of any successful states that combine two bitterly opposed ethno-religious groups. Nations like Belgium, Canada, etc have unique mitigating factors and even with their economic success are sharply divided culturally and have major secessionist political parties.

You'd have a bunch of guys check out and just ride the bench their senior year to stay healthy and prepare for the NFL.

Although I am a broke college student ATM and not attending, it really wouldn't be a huge undertaking to make the trip. $1,500-$2,000 would be plenty to have a good time.
That is a shite load for a "broke" college student.

Meh, my supposed "jab" is simply common knowledge. I must admit it is a great feeling knowing we are better than the "University" of Knoxville at everything. Sorry, everything except women's basketball.
We would run Tennessee in it's totality if the state had anything keeping us from moving to NYC, Atlanta, etc.

Probably a good thing you've accepted being a dead program. Nothing wrong with showing up every Saturday and cheering on the kids, no matter how much they suck on (and off) the field.

Big Greek and party scene for an elite school. Geographically diverse student body, some of whom follow Florida, Penn State or the Patriots and don't care all that much about Vandy sports, if they care about college sports at all. BUT, at the end of the day we have a major D-I athletics program and the sports scene is bigger and better than that of 90% of schools. Big basketball games are a blast.
Obviously most students are very serious about school and professional development, and there are a lot of classic nerd types and cut throat competitors. Like anything, it is what you make of it; you can party hard if you want, do the Greek thing, be a diehard Vandy fan (yes they exist) and go to all the games or live in the library. Once you are 21 Nashville is going to be way funner than Oxford or Gainesville.
