Something else to note. Teams going to Tx will play on their artificial grass turf. But OU plays Tx in the Cotton Bowl every year and it has natural grass, so we avoid the concrete like astroturf. I like that most SEC teams have real grass.

LSU uses celebration bermuda. Similar grasses, both being bermuda hybrids, but celebration is better suited for the Louisiana climate

This grass is what Ole Miss uses at Vaught Hemingway.

Yes, it's really pathetic that they have turf at the Hyphens-R-Us football stadium. Even worse that they have it for baseball. But, of course, OU has turf for baseball, too.

Yep
State’s field is like a putting green. Best manicured grass in the nation.

Best grass in the SEC is grown in Kentucky, of course it is not on the field but chances are good it is in some of the players on the field.

I’d prefer we have grass baseball, but at least its not as impactful as football with bigger athletes and more twisting/turning motion. With more baseball games in a seson the fake grass is essier to get games in after rains. But hopefully we’ll update that after our leaders see the SEC baseball fields.

Those Carl Spackler hybrids just never caught on for football.

Turf grass doesn't bother me as much in baseball as the faux turf dirt. And turf pitching mounds are even worse. Oklahoma, unfortunately, has all three

Your brethren down in Stillwater have a beautiful field

They’re putting new turf in this week. Not sure if it’s the same, it came from Augusta

Saw something about them placing artificial on the sidelines and behind the endzones. Would install sod in area for kickers to warm up.

I get it for some places in baseball season. Absolutely no school in the SEC should have it for football

The concrete turf college and pro teams used in the 80s and 90s I’m surprised didn’t result to more injuries. I’m shocked it was used in the first place.
