The fact that you can pull off yellow shorts or purple shorts doesn't make our colors bad. Purple and gold Looks good together. Maroon never looks good.

I can't tell if people are serious or not in this thread. I love LSU's colors, though obviously I'm biased. But I seem to recall LSU's football uniforms being in the top 3 on many posters lists on this board in "rank the unis" threads. So there seems to be some inconsistency there.

Yes, and I've seen it other places too where LSU's uniforms were rank very high...and not by a bunch of LSU fans...

Technically I think its called canary yellow.

WTF? Really?

Officially, it's "Old Gold":

Old gold is a dark yellow, which varies from light olive or olive brown to deep or strong yellow. The widely accepted color "Old gold" is on the darker side of this range.

The first recorded use of old gold as a color name in English was in the early 19th century (exact year uncertain).[2]

The problem is that everyone just uses yellow.

UT orange, however, is not even close to the same color (it lacks the stronger red tint that UF and the dept. of corrections/DOT uses).

This.

UF has easily the worst colors in college athletics.

Well, if we're talking Burnt Orange, I love UTexas' colors. It's Tennessee orange that I can't ever quite decide on.

Worst color - UT's orange
Worst scheme - Vandy's gold on black

Best color - UK's blue

Lsu and not even close. First of all their color is YELLOW not GOLD. The saints are gold, Notre Dame is gold. Lsu is bright yellow. I searched a while back and could only find 4 or 5 division 1 schools that were purple and gold (yellow).

It's more of a nacho cheese color.

Purple and cheese.

Never understood the love for LSU's uniform. The helmet is terrible. The "LSU" font looks like it was spelled with duct tape. The tiger is indistinguishable from more than ten feet away and might as well be a chrysanthemum.
