I’d love to hear your definition of “affluent” as it pertains to Desoto County

See, you're just being a jackass now.

How so? I lived in OB for a while and have friends all over Desoto county. I just wanted to know what he considered the “affluent” areas. Hernando? Lewisburg?

State fans are the type who bow their heads for Jesus, stand for Uncle Sam, only love one woman, and they’re always proud of what they’ll have. They know, ultimately, that their greatest contribution to this world will be what they leave behind. They have abundant grace and gentle kindness.

Meanwhile, most Ole Miss fans have irreparable credit issues, mountains of crippling debt, and a propensity to cheat on their spouse.

State fans are the type to order the Uncle Herschel’s breakfast at the Cracker Barrel, despite their diabetic neuropathy.

Ole Miss fan are the type to order steel-cut oats and dried dates at the local Panera Bread, and only eat half of it.

It’s an unassailable fact that Ole Miss fans prefer foreign cars, and not even the nice ones.

Ole Miss fans listen to NBA podcasts, and State fans prefer “Out of Bounds” with Bo Bounds.

State fans are the type who’ll never forget that the greatest football team in their school’s putrid history got rocked by a hobbling Bo Wallace and an Ole Miss team decimated with injuries.

Do they think ole miss is some Ivy League school that is extremely hard to get into?

No offense to the State fans but we’re talking about Misssissippi here. You have no reason to act like you’re above anybody.

Second in family to go to college here. Most of my family was/is not wealthy.

I will say this, this whole Ole Miss is poor deal is a bunch of BS. These kids driving around town here are all driving very expensive cars and so are their parents who are with them this weekend to move in. Nothing like the used ragged out Jeep wrangler I limped up here with.

I'm embarrassed for them. I continue to chuckle at all of the goofy things you all can come up with. So comical.

I’m not embarrassed. I appreciate your... sympathy I guess? But I don’t need that either.

Oxford has a strange "look at me" obsession. Doesn't make them bad people. Just not my cup of tea.
Prime example is their beloved Big Bad Breakfast. This place is pumped up and written about like it invented and perfected breakfast. In reality, it's $22 for bacon and eggs. Good stuff, but the same food you can get in any town across the South.
And yes, OM folks used to promote the idea that they were somehow academically elite, even though they have they same requirements as MSU, MS Valley, Alcorn, and Southern Miss.

Do a lot of folks in Mississippi who have no ties to either school just bandwagon on whichever is better?

There are literally zero bandwaggon fans of a Mississippi School. Most of us either went there or have family that did.

Have you ever even been to Big Bad Breakfast? $22 for bacon and eggs, huh? The most expensive thing on their menu is $14.50

What a classic State fan response: cast judgment on something related to Ole Miss without knowing the true story, or even attempting to investigate.

Yes. Many, many times.

How far back do you want to test my knowledge of Oxford/OM?

If you’ve been there so many times, then why do you think they charge $22 for bacon and eggs?
