Who has more money. Texas or OU?
The answer to that question is going to dictate the outcome for the foreseeable future.
Absolutely anyone who believes that success in not going to be predicate on money (and finding the right coach, that costs money) is fooling themselves.
Money will rule above all else. No matter how storied a program is, no matter how many past trophies are in the case.

A history lesson for you. Back when you okies were one of the few teams paying kids, players would tolerate your joke town. Now, you can't match the big boys. No sane person will take less $ to live in a horrible place like Norman. OU will never be relevant again in college football. You may not see another victory over Texas in your lifetime.
10/10
Some Texas fans have really embraced the spirit of the rant.

I always thought Texas Tech vs. Texas A&M was one of the more bitter rivalries in CFB.
I heard once that yalls statue on campus is pointing towards CS, but I never verified that

Texas A&M …..more resources now….was not always that way.

Look here, everyone. We have a theologian sermonizing and swearing. Interesting. Probably got those four degrees from the University of Phoenix. But hey, everyone has to start somewhere.

Texas has its first back to back win over OU since 2009. This can’t be a serious thought.
Arturo is being a bit pissy there....
But what is funny to me is that Texas fans always start trashing Norman like it is Tuba City or something ...
Believe it or not... Most recruits find OU and Norman kind of chill and charming compared to the congested rat race that is Austin. And Arturo always forgets that Norman is in a 1.5 million metro.... So you aren't in a fishbowl like players are in more isolated college towns. Norman is actually a pretty nice compromise between a traditional college town setting and a big city college setting.
And you always have to laugh when some dude who's user name is a guy who came from Abilene....when he trashes any other place.

A&M and not really close. Today’s college football is all about the money. The allure of playing fit a traditional power is largely gone. Don’t think high school or college age players are going to give OU a discount just to wear an OU jersey.
It’s all about money. The more you have, the bigger the advantage. Just how it is.
Um yes, OU just received a commitment form a 5* offensive lineman that said he took a pay cut NIL wise because he wanted to come play for OU

Tech definitely hated A&M and from what I could tell they hated us more than Texas. Tech always wanted to be A&M and they resent that we get PUF money and they don't. There is also a significant gap in admission requirements between Tech and A&M. My wife is from West Texas and has a ton of family who went to Tech. When she was looking at colleges she was thinking about Tech because it was close to home and she asked one of her Dad's friends about it. His response was "You got a pencil? Ok, you can get into Tech" and that was all she needed to choose A&M.
There isn't a lot of resentment on the Aggie side with Tech and we actually root for them often now that we don't play them. Tech and A&M actually have a lot in common in terms of being big Ag schools and the like and the West Texas folks are generally pretty nice folksI don't know of many Aggies with the slightest interest in renewing that game. Lubbock is a crappy town a long way from anything and their fans are nasty as hell, especially when we play them. The irony is it isn't the West Texas fans it's the folks from Houston, Austin, and DFW that go there, the kids that couldn't get into A&m or Texas. It's a no win for A&M because if we win no one cares and if we lose we never hear the end of it. Personally I really have no desire to ever play them in football again.

There will always be one offs. That said this is about the long term not the past or even the present. Everything long term is in A&M's favor. Of course there will always be kids that like OU but that's very different than who can get the most talent overall long term. OU isn't going to fall off a cliff and is unlikely to fall as far as Nebraska but they are at a disadvantage in the SEC.
Another example btw is Arkansas. Arkie historically battled with A&M as the 2 schools just below Texas in the SWC and they feasted on Texas talent. When they went to the SEC that well dried up and slowly they fell into being more of a mid school in football in spite of a lot of effort and pride in that school and program. They just can't get the JImmies and Joes in enough quantity.
Another sign for OU fans is the thread from a few days ago about going to Tennessee and being blown away by the atmosphere. That's the expectation of where you need to be and you have a long way to go to get there. OU is definitely mid at best in terms of stadium and atmosphere in the SEC and that matters in recruiting, especially when other schools have more money than you do already. Showing off old trophies only gets you so far, especially as the dust starts to collect on those trophies.

The days of OU being one of just a few big fish in the pond are over.
Like I told a friend of mine who is an OU grad. Get used to being just an AVERAGE team in a larger conference.

Good question. A&M moving to the SEC ahead of Texas gave them a YUGE advantage to establish their brand away from Big Tex and they largely squandered it.
That said, it's amazing what one good coaching hire can do for a program. I would have bet money Oklahoma and Texas joining the SEC would have been a death blow to A&M. Yet here we are with A&M sitting atop the conference with the Sooners and Whorns trailing.
On the subject of Texas and Oklahoma joining the SEC... Someone who's been used to winning and having their way is going to permanently become mid in the very near future. Is it Oklahoma, LSU, Florida, A&M, Tennessee, Auburn? Auburn, Tennessee and Florida have been trending mid for quite a while, but when we go to 9 conference games a year someone who thinks they're above such things will be losing 3-4 games a year or more.
It'll be interesting to see the SEC's version of Nebraska becomes.

Well we know it can't be Mizzou because you need to have a winning tradition first.

Bawhahahaha, O good lord this trash again. No, we thought you were retarded for exactly the same reason as your new foes in the SEC have discovered- Milk men, delusion, inflated and unfounded sense of superiority- while constantly losing given the resources available. Aka chronic under-achieving.
Hated you ??? no we along with everyone else laughed at you. And we still do, though it finally looks like you have put together a winning team after wasting 40+ million on yet another stupid coaching buy-out last year. Even idiots finds gold sometimes.
Mark my words, y'all will F* this up against Texas or maybe Missouri. You will do what you always do- blow your own brains out in a clutch moment. And as always we will be there to laugh.
And no resentment on the Aggie side. Are your serious, after beating y'all year after year in the Leach years, just mentioning, Tech brought on a mass epileptic seizure, complete with floor soaking rabies foam.
F***n' dorks.

Ironically... there is an Aggie couple on You Tube who visited every SEC stadium in 2024....
Their pick for the best overall atmosphere was Oklahoma...
