If LSU can keep ties with Florida, I'd be thrilled. Some great games, some memorable games in years the teams weren't great. Both teams have won multiple national titles recently, series is separated by 1 game overall. That sounds like the type of series the SEC would try to keep.

100%

Playing OU is like playing Bama. They are good team but nobody has any real feelings towards them one way or the other.

Nah I’d be asking for Vandy if so. I just want to play good programs we have history with.

In order of importance that’s
Texas
Aggie

LSU
Ole Miss

After that I’d like OU if we’re starting up a new rivalry

Mizzou is on the same level of importance as a South Carolina would be. And if we didn’t have any of the above teams for rivalry week, there are a few other old SWC teams that would be more interesting

Tennessee and Vandy are definitely musts for us. I think we'd be content with South Carolina or Missouri for our third.

I like playing Mississippi State every year but they need to be playing Ole Miss Alabama and LSU.

could 100% see that, could also see florida sticking with UT and then A&M in there for LSU or Bama switching lsu and msu.

i do think Ross Dellengers SI piece hit it pretty close but i could 100% see your scenerio playing out too.

For OU switch out 8$4feit for Arky, not building an OU-Ark rivalry moving forward would be criminally stupid.

It will not be like you think it will.

Bama
AU
Texas
OU
LSU
Florida
UGA
A&M

Vandy
Ole Miss
State
TENN
UK
USC
Mizzou
Arkansas

If you from the top group you will be required to play 2 of those 8 and 1 from the bottom 8.

The OP’s list for LSU isn’t happening. LSU-Arkansas won’t be a permanent. LSU will get Ole Miss, A&M and either Alabama or Florida.

Per Ross Dellenger of SI (who tends to be accurate in his reporting of the SEC way more than he is wrong), the league has been divided into two halves. Arkansas is in the bottom half of the league. LSU is in the top half. LSU will get two from the top half and one from the bottom half. Arkansas will get one from the top half and two from the bottom.

Arkansas will get Texas, Missouri and another bottom-half team.

Yes. Most of us want our Florida rivalry back.

I think MSU ends up with Ole Miss, Kentucky, and one of the top eight teams not named Alabama or LSU.

Why? Because Alabama has Tennessee and LSU has Ole Miss as higher ranked "must have" opponents from the bottom eight.

That means neither LSU nor Alabama keep MSU on their annual schedule. Auburn has Georgia and Alabama but no must have opponent from the bottom eight so they are my guess for MSU annually going forward.

Unless people do something different (like the pods that are rumored to be off the table) this is the downstream effect.

AL/MSu first met in the 1800s and has been played more times than AL/Ten. Only a few meetings less than LSu/Ole miss. Not to mention the schools are barely 80 miles apart.

Just like UGA is pretty much stone cold locked into UF/AU/sc, I don't see any way bama's 3 woudln't be AU/TN/MSU.

Can't be true unless Tennessee is defined as top eight. Tennessee was apparently defined as a bottom eight team.

Which, given the last couple decades, makes obvious sense

LSU can't get Ala. (Aub., Tenn., & MSU).

Maybe not Aub. either (Ala., UGA, Fl./Tenn.)

Won't get UGA (Aub., Fl., Tenn.)

Right now their best shot is Fl..

10000000000% YES.... We will take this right now... One condition, we do not play them all at home in the same years.

MSU is off the table for both Alabama and LSU if the top/bottom eight teams rumor is accurate. LSU has Ole Miss and Alabama has Tennessee

No feasible way on the table that LSU gets Auburn since Auburn has Alabama and Georgia - they would have a little eight team as their third permanent

quote:

Won't get UGA (Aub., Fl., Tenn.)

UGA (or Florida) would have to replace Alabama to get Tennessee on their schedule as a permanent opponent - because Tennessee would only get one permanent upper eight opponent.

Right now their best shot is Fl..

Florida, Alabama, A&M are the most likely to be two of the three big eight permanent opponents for LSU (Ole Miss is their only lock IMO as little eight permanent, which also rules out LSU playing Arkansas annually)
