Vandy used to be our academic poster child back when they took the SEC athletic money from sports and put it into academics, but this is not your father's Vandy anymore.

Didn't they once do away with the AD office?

When students quit going to games and have no wins to celebrate their grades go up.

Every State grad I've met has impressed me as solid, successful individuals.

That is all the "ratings" I need.

Because I like sports. I meant, it is the only academic rankings that matter.

none of these schools have anything to be ashamed of.

Except LSU. They should really be ashamed.

Vandy and UT-Austin are in a class by themselves in the SEC. Both schools are targets for Wall Street investment banks and PE firms.

Fool, most professors want to live in college towns, nobody gives a shite about Emory. Once UGA picks up an AAU and the engineering college and medical schools get into the next phase, watch out.

Living in Athens with a large salary would be very preferable to a professor and their family.

Most profs aren't from Georgia and if they are good enough to teach at GT or Emory they can get a job at 95% of the schools out there. Very few profs are leaving a Top 5 Engineering program at GT for UGA regardless of AAU status. They can have their pick of schools nationally including many Ivies if they are GT. Emory is just a completely different animal from UGA as a small and extremely well funded private school that is outstanding in the Medical arena. Simply starting a Med school in Athens isn't going to get many to leave.

Academics care about reputation and prestige. UGA is an excellent school but the areas of excellence are different from GT and Emory and it would take 30 years for that to make a demonstrable change.

As a former GT student, they have gone woke AF. No way would I now want my kid there, no matter what the reputation or ranking. I have the receipts.

UAB is the flagship within the UA system since Uat dropped app 60 spots within the past 5 years or so. Uat won’t be ranked Top200 in 5 years from now.

It is like being ranked 15-25 in the AP polls. Just a number with no value

I would place great value in Florida being ranked, even 25th, right now.
