Fresno State #4 seed in regional is #1 and it isn’t close

Came here to say this.
If you can’t point to this without looking it up, you are not a college baseball fan.

Obviously they were not the worst team this year.

This Oklahoma team is virtually identical in strength and circumstances to the 2022 OU team that went to the finals, aren't they?

Average teams get on heaters all the time. The UF that Played LSU in the Finals a couple years ago was worse than this Oklahoma team. This OU team is not even top 10 worst lol

I knew there were actual differences, but not being an OU fan, I'm not aware of all the minutia. I just remember that 2022 OU team being unranked and not very impressive, and then overcoming every obstacle in the tournament, just like this year. At a glance, 2022 Oklahoma was 45–22 and undefeated in Omaha going into the CWS finals. 2026 is 41–22 and undefeated. '22 was 15–9 in the Big 12, '26 was 14–16 in the SEC. The only real difference seems to be the '22 squad won their conference tournament and this year got bounced on the first game.

That UF team was the #2 overall seed in the tournament

I think that the trajectory of the seasons were similar... Except in 2022 OU's slump was earlier in the season and they got hot before the end of the regular season...So they went to regionals with momentum after the last couple of weeks of the season and then the conference tourney
Like this year's team... they had to go on the road to regionals and Supers,.
This year's team looked like crap for the last month and a half of the season. Even in the regional... they didn't look all that great until game three... an elimination game against the Citadel. So this team you are seeing now has played eight games looking like this.

The broadcast booth has been the most anti-OU group in the history of sports.

The pundits did the same to Alabama heading into our regional. Literally every expert I heard picked Oklahoma State to come out of our regional. I was slightly offended but then again anyone that didn't follow us at all this year and only saw us in the CWS was probably wondering how in the hell we even made the field of 64 much less the CWS...lol.
I noticed that about OU as well. The experts talked up the other teams in their regional being as much of a threat to Georgia Tech as they were. Even after beating Georgia Tech thet were given very little chance of winning 2 of 3 against Kansas. Even more laughable in hindsight was how people assumed Alabama was a bigger threat to the Georgia/Texas winner in the CWS winner's bracket game. OU has gotten the least respect for a very good team that underachieved during the regular season of just about any college baseball team I can ever remember
