There is absolutely no chance you read the article.

Every university in the SEC has ties to the confederacy, segregation and/or being on the wrong side of the civil rights movement, especially if you dig a bit.
Obviously. But Ole Miss’s is more in your face. And the university has the perception of being full of white fratstars and sorority skanks. I’ve never been on Ole Miss’s campus. Like most people in the U.S. So all we see is what ESPN gives us from the Grove on Gameday.
It’s the perception, not the reality, when this issue influences a decision. The school/ reputation, regardless of if it’s fair not. And that’s usually all most people have to go on. I doubt many families are doing deep dives into the historical origins of most of these universities.
Ole Miss has tried to distance itself from the symbols recently. And more and more people who lived through the Civil Rights Movement Era are dying off. And kids will play just about anywhere for a few extra 100k. I don’t think this will be much of an issue 10, 20, 50 years from now. But it is one now—maybe small—but apparently one Lane wanted to not be another in his world of a million distractions.

It’s honestly incredible how dumb you are
It’s actually impressive, really. But I don’t think he’s dumb as much as there’s probably something wrong with him. Whatever it is, it has helped hide his racism that pours out of every post. If Chicken or the other mods could actually understand his posts, he’d have been banned years ago.

jeezus, he’s not some wizard or mind controller, he’s more like a spoiled sorority girl that struggles with the truth
I think what makes him interesting, is that he’s kinda both. And some other things. And you never quite know which one he’s giving you.
And you can still roll your eyes, but just to clarify, I wasn’t saying he was “some wizard or mind controller” that was going to be fascinating to watch. I didn’t even mean that he was going to be fascinating to watch. What I meant was that it was going to be fascinating to watch how LSU fans—on this board in particular—react to his “uniqueness” when we see the day-to-day, game-to-game Kiffin and he does shite that none of us has ever seen.
I am more interested in our reactions to his behavior than the behavior itself. I’ve seen enough to know what we’re getting. I don’t think a lot of LSU fans actually have. But they will.

The way it was marketed made it seem like a deeper-dive into him and his story and him coming to Baton Rouge, which I was kind of excited for.
That’s exactly what it was, you dumbass. It started with him as a child, his personal and professional journey, and how his cumulative past experiences shaped him, which helped shape how he made the decision tonight leave Oxford for Baton Rouge.
I learned a lot I hadn’t known before. I believe you were kind of excited for it. Excited to read it as what you wanted it to be, so you could come on here bitching about the liberal writer for the liberal magazine who are all racists against us whites.

Other than that, it was a white liberal magazine writer's piece on how black athletes are only making millions of dollars instead of tens of millions in college football, and that we need to diversify areas that have too many white people.
Wow. It’s crazy how people can read the same thing and come away with 2 completely different thoughts on its content, depending on what lens they read it through. Pretty clear what lens you used. What you are referring to in what I quoted was a smaller piece of the article than the Confederate stuff. Which was tiny itself.
And yes, the writer, did choose to touch on what you said, but he didn’t provide commentary to the issue. He simply quoted a congressman from—Pennsylvania?—that nobody’s ever heard of, and whose quote was stupid. It was a small paragraph inside a bigger section that dealt with the changing landscape of college football, most notably NIL, that was a major factor in Kiffin’s decision to come to LSU. You saw things that literally were not there.

I just read the entire article. It was about the professional and personal journey of Lane Kiffin, and how he finds himself now in Baton Rouge at LSU. The tweet touched on just a really small piece of it. But this was the entire part:
Which should not be controversial at all. And the very next sentences of the article were these:
He didn’t specify what the “some things” were, but the writer added this:
And the writer lets those facts just sit there without commentary. I think the implication is that the town of Oxford itself is likely another, separate from Ole Miss.
And earlier in the article, Kiffin said this about Ole Miss giving him a chance:
And there’s plenty more on what went into his decision, but none of it had anything to do with race or alluded to the Confederacy in any way.
But Lane is a different kinda dude. He’s kinda mysterious and you know exactly what he’s trying to communicate. A lot of times there are multiple, subtle layers. You never know what he’s truly thinking. The writer said this:
And then quoted Finebaum:
Which I think Lane thrives on. And uses to his advantage better than almost anyone. The quote from the tweet on the OP is all about recruiting. He mentioned it being a hurdle and just one of many reasons he chose LSU over Ole Miss. But you can’t discount the fact that while he was talking about race and recruiting in the context that’s obvious, he’s also subtly and slyly using it to positively recruit LSU and negatively recruit Ole Miss. Without most people even realizing it. He’s incepting it subliminally. Pretty brilliant, honestly.
LSU has had some of the all time great characters in CFB history over just the past 20-25 years. Lane may be the most interesting of all of them. We are gonna love him for the most part. Especially if he wins, which he will. But he’s gonna do some things that really piss us off, too. Regardless, it’s gonna be fascinating to watch. Can’t wait. :lsu:
quote:
When he was coaching there, Kiffin says, top recruits would tell him, “‘Hey, coach, we really like you. But my grandparents aren’t letting me move to Oxford, Mississippi.’ That doesn’t come up when you say Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Parents were sitting here this weekend saying the campus’s diversity feels so great: ‘It feels like there’s no segregation. And we want that for our kid because that’s the real world.’”
Which should not be controversial at all. And the very next sentences of the article were these:
quote:
(The next day Kiffin added, “I just hope [my comment] comes across respectful to Ole Miss…. There are some things that I’m saying that are factual, they’re not shots.”
He didn’t specify what the “some things” were, but the writer added this:
quote:
The population of Baton Rouge is about 51% Black and 36% white; Oxford is about 66% white, 26% Black.
And the writer lets those facts just sit there without commentary. I think the implication is that the town of Oxford itself is likely another, separate from Ole Miss.
And earlier in the article, Kiffin said this about Ole Miss giving him a chance:
quote:
“I needed Oxford and Ole Miss a lot more than they needed me.”
The writer said this:
quote:
After four hours of talking with Kiffin, I’m stumped: Is he endearingly sincere or so full of shite that it’s an art form?
And then quoted Finebaum:
quote:
“I first met him in 2009, and I can’t decide either,”
Which I think Lane thrives on. And uses to his advantage better than almost anyone. The quote from the tweet on the OP is all about recruiting. Need to finish him with a K on this 2-2. He did!! Nice. Throw a double play here, and all our options are open.

if we can get a clean first two from paz that would be huge
Yeah, for sure. But after that, it’s likely gonna depend on the score. If we take an early lead again, he probably goes to Cowan and rides him as long as he can. But he’s too around the plate to not give up a bomb or 2. Just have to expect it and he has to make sure he didn’t walk a guy or 2 in front of them.
Jay probably has 3 plans. Cowan after Paz if we have a lead or are tied. If we’re down by 2 or 3, I’m not sure who he goes to. Not Cowan. I don’t think we see him if we are down by much, if any. Hold him to see if we can get a lead in the middle innings, and hope to ride him most of the rest of the way. If not, he starts tomorrow. But if Paz doesn’t have it early, he gets a quick hook and chaos ensues and we may half arse punt and use some guys lower on the totem pole and hope they step up and give us a Riley Cooper or Nate Ack type outing to keep it from getting out of hand and see if our offense can keep up and keep us in it. But we can’t swept, so we may have to punt and save Cowan for Sunday and hope he can go 5 or 6 and limit damage and hope the bats can keep up. Sherrin threw 50 pitches last night, so he burned tonight, but may be able to give 3-6 outs Sunday. Our best chance of salvaging 1 is probably a great Cowan start tomorrow, have somebody to bridge us to Sherrin and hope he can close it out. But the offense is the key tomorrow to take advantage of UGA’s weaker Sunday arms.
My worst nightmare came true last night.getting a big early lead, Schmidt giving up too many free passes, throwing 95 pitches but only getting through 4, where a 7-3 lead turned into 7-5 lead, our bats went cold and we only scored one more run. It just out Jay in such an awkward position. We’re not gonna punt unless we’re down big early and Jay sees the writing on the wall and goes with guys who we hope will step up, and we can 3-6 outs from. I don’t know who Jay trusts to take the pill in that situation. Probably nobody. Hope and pray.
The worst thing that can happen is we get that early lead from the offense and Paz and ride Cowan after that and see how long he can go. But if he gives us more than we think he canz, but we still give up the lead and lose, we definitely don’t want to have burned Cowan.
We should handle their Sunday pitching. We just gotta hope we get there with the bats on fire. and hope we can eke out a win Sunday.
Jays not gonna punt or throw off and be willing to sacrifice tonight until he feels a comeback is not likely. We just got a find a way to keep up with their bats, and if not, throw off tonight and go all in tomorrow.
If you could guarantee we win tomorrow, I’d take it in a second. We’ll see. Paz not off to a great start so far.

It’s 2026, not 1996. But I doubt you’ll even understand what that means.

Is it nature or nurture though? Are homos/pedos drawn to becoming priests, OR are regular, straight, healthy, males turned into homos/pedos when they become priests? Like when prisoners engage in male sexual activity when that's all that is available...
This really is the obvious question that no one has asked in this thread yet. Maybe because we’ve had this argument before and know there’s no possible answer, we just go round and round.
