Good...Vanderbilt has been the conference doormat for ever..awful kind of UCF to step up and offer to help the Dores out a little...

Do you really think the SEC would add any more schools from Florida than FSU?
This is about eyeballs. I predict that if the sec adds teams it will be FSU, Clemson, UVA, and UNC. If adding 6 it’s NC St and Ava Tech.

UCF is just moving from group of to group of conferences. UCF brings nothing to the SEC and doesn’t warrant an SEC offer.

None of these teams would be top 2, probably, and two of them aren't in the top 5 or 6.

Outside of FSU you really could not have picked a worse list of candidates in terms of realistic expectations and what the SEC might want.

UCF?? are yall the school that beats the drum for a snap count?

UCF won't ever be in the SEC.
The reality of expansion for the SEC is that they'll expand whenever doing so means more money for the existing SEC teams.
The SEC will expand if the per team payout increases because of doing so. Otherwise they wont, regardless of what other conferences do.
UCF has value... but not for the SEC. It has value for conferences without a Florida footprint, but the reality is there aren't really any general CFB fans in Florida who watch UCF who don't already watch UF. Adding UCF brings very little chance at increased income for the other SEC teams, so it won't happen.
THe Big 20? It's possible. The Big 12? Already happened. But not the SEC.
I honestly don't think the SEC grows past 16 for a LONG time.

It's not even about eyeballs. It's about dollars.
I don't think the SEC adds FSU even. While FSU might be able to hold their own in terms of eyeballs, I can't see how UGA or UF or Tennessee will get any more money each year from the conference by adding FSU. And if that doesn't happen, they won't expand.
Same is true for Big 10 expansion, but their math is different because they own their own station. Adding teams for them can mean adding more content to the cable channel they own, while it doesn't mean more content for ESPN if the SEC expands (since ESPN pays for FSU/Clemson games already through the ACC, they're taking content from one contract and moving it to another... that they have to pay more for).

How much more $ did the SEC get from ESPN when they added Oklahoma and texas ?

They won’t call it Super expansion when UCF gets added. They will call it desperation.

The contract was set up so that adding approved teams increased ESPN's payout to make the amount per team stay the same.
The SEC wanted to add more conference games by going to a 9 game schedule and increase the payout more. ESPN said no, so we have 8 game schedules still.
