When do we start treating OU and Texas as SEC?

I know that they don't officially join until the summer but the next football season will include them as full members.

Is it after the bowl games are played or do we root for them I'm the bowls since they will be SEC?

Why would you root for someone you are recruiting against?

Never; they aren't SEC. They are coattail riders.

Frick you, this is a bad deal for the conference and the fans, which built this conference. I could care less about playing texas and ou, except in the playoffs.

Why would you root for any team in a conference other than your own, unless that team is in position to cause pain to a fan base you truly despise?

Once Texas and OU arrive in the SEC, we are SEC. No billboards will be purchased to announce our arrival. Both our Universities will stand our own merit and compete at a high level.

It will be great to renew old rivalries, and develop new ones.

May the best teams win.

Maybe. Blame your conference's leadership, not us. Taking 2 of our 3 rivals was pretty intentional on the SEC's part.

Bringing them in destroyed what little was left of the historic footprint of the conference and eliminated many if not most of the annual rivalries that made it great.

In other words, the SEC is dead. It was murdered over money so flick them both.

This is a business. And the only goal is to stomp the shite out of the Big 10. 10 to 12 years from now there will be 1 big dog worth about 200 million per school. It's only a matter of time before ESPN and Fox link arms and make the playoff a multi billion dollar cash cow and the SEC with TX and OU are favored to cash the big checks. Probably add FSU and Clemson too.

I'm excited to renew the rivalry with Ark, start one with LSU and get the A&M one back.

What makes me not want to be in the SEC (as a Texas fan) is just political/cultural shite. Texas from I35 west just feels like the Southwest, so I've always felt more aligned with CA and the southwest and football would have been better had schools in the West and southwest been more competitive in recent years.

The particular old SEC footprint is based on the fact that there was a particular SWC footprint. Not really sure why anyone would care about that at all, but that's just political bullshite.

And to me the only real outcome of all this is that Texas and OU have gained back some recruiting advantage that they had lost because the Big12's shitiness coincided with the SEC's rise.

That's what Texas and OU are getting, so to the old SEC, yeah, that is a bit of a shitty deal.

To be fair, Ole Miss is not followed by many and has not ever really won anything so why not root for another team.

I live west of Austin and grew up in west Texas. Nothing out here aligns with CA. You must think Beto is a cool dude.
