Hopefully this year's game is a contest unlike the last two seasons in which we hung 60 plus points two years in a row on you lol

We could play 7 to 8 players on defense every down and I don't think you all could score 60 with that offense this year. However, your defense looks legit and may be the best one we see all year. Looking forward to it.

2002 with Watts for the catharsis after 7 years of losing.

2009 Rocky Block was the loudest I've ever heard BDS.

1986 on Rocky Top. Don Smith’s 62 yd td run around left end with 6 minutes to go. I was sitting about 7th row on the 45 yd line surrounded by UT students. We had just beat Syracuse in the dome the week before and UT was ranked # 8. Two weeks in a row surrounded by orange.

That is a great memory...inaccurate...but great.

1987 Tennessee finished 10-2-1. The two losses were to Alabama and Boston College. Neither Alabama, nor Boston College played Syracuse the week before playing Tennessee. Also, Syracuse finished the season 11-0-1, tying Auburn in the Sugar Bowl.

So, nobody beat Syracuse and UT in back to Back weeks in 1987.

Alabama did beat #8 Tennessee on October 17th...but they lost to Memphis the week prior.

Boston College beat #13 Tennessee...but they beat Army the week prior.

Edit to add...looked it up...you were actually talking about 1986. MSU beat #8 Tennessee in Week 2 after they beat Syracuse in Week 1. That Tennessee team finished the season 7-5.

Probably the one where Dexter McCluster went for a billion yards against them.

Highlights of Dexter from his 300+ yard game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnEKiZejnGU

That has to be the most enjoyable in Knoxville. Vols started streaming out by halftime and by the end of the 3rd quarter, it was pretty much just us Dawgs in the stands.

First time I had room to sit in Neyland. We moved down into the Vol's section and stretched out.

Yep, his final stat line:
25 carries, 282 yards
11.8 ypc
4 rushing TD's
71 yard longest run
4 receptions - 42 yards

324 all purpose yards for a dude that was 5-9 and listed at 170lbs (he was more like 160-165lbs).

Getting immediate payback for the Stoernover by knocking them out of the '99 title race was pretty sweet.

Either the Hobnail Boot (2001) or the absolute destruction last season. Their fans actually thought they were coming into Athens and scoring 45-50 points and spent all week saying that playing in Sanford Stadium was no big deal. One of the most satisfying arse kickings I have ever watched.
