Growing up an LSU Fan and being stationed in Alaska from 1990 to 1994. Barely any SEC football games to watch up there at the time and boy that was a good thing. I missed the worst stretch of LSU football ever. Its like it never happened to me.

The conference not including Texas.

Watching the college football highlight show that Bill Fleming hosted on Sunday morning.

My dad, a state grad, took me to the 98 SEC championship game as well as the peach bowl vs Clemson at the Georgia Dome. His employer at the time gave us suite tickets for both games which is why it was so memorable. 9 and 10 year old me won’t forget those games.

The year was 1990. It was year one of the Gene Stallings era.
"This has to rank right up there with the biggest wins I've ever had in my career," Alabama coach Gene Stallings said. "We had terrible field position throughout the game, but we got tremendous effort from the defense. It was just a great win."
However, Crimson Tide center Roger Shultz had the line of the game when he told reporters, "We ought to pay property tax. We own this place."

I didn’t grow up in the sec but my favorite memory coming into the conference was our basketball program going head to head with Kentucky. There were some great games in that stretch.

My favorite memory of the SEC is when it was made up exclusively of teams in SE.

My dad took 9-year-old me to see Bama host GA Tech in Legion Field in 1963. I had never seen a football game in person and never really thought about college football. We sat in the student section - WOW - I was hooked - Bear Bryant - Joe Namath - Steve Sloan - been a great 61-year run - RTR.

My favorite memory was beating the shite out of LSU during the 90s so bad y’all quit playing us. Of course, now y’all are much better.
aggie’s “favorite” memory is going 6-4 during a ten year stretch against LSU during one of the worst stretches of LSU’s football program.
No wonder Texas cucked you and stole your coach. Just a sad group of people.

Legendary.

I wouldn't call that the biggest upset on the schedule. Arkansas did lose to Kentucky at home by double digits, lost to Auburn at home by three FGs and got destroyed by Tennessee.

Dave, Dave and Dave. At 11:00 on Saturday morning.
The best that ever was.

I didn’t grow up in the SEC, but I remember the first season, particularly in basketball, how exciting and weird it was playing all those different teams

Okay, Memory Lane…
Iron Bowls at Legion Field. I’m an old fart, so my first was in the early 70s but don’t remember the exact year. I’m glad they took it back to campus (thanks to Coach Dye, of course) but it’s my earliest memory of the Iron Bowl. Fun times for a young boy who loved football.
I wasn’t there, but Bama beating Miami in the Sugar Bowl was pretty damn epic. Everybody remembers that game.
I also recall seeing Alabama beating VPI (now Virginia Tech) 77-6 in 1973 in Tuscaloosa with my dad. It was a rare night game. Four Bama runners had 100+ yards rushing and the team ran for over 700 yards. Bryant said after the game “I’m really embarrassed over the score. There’s not that much difference in our teams. But I’m proud of our kids for winning. I thought the offense was terrific.”
Listening to Leonard’s Losers on Saturday mornings in the fall. If you don’t remember or are too young, it was a radio show where Georgia grad Leonard Postero would discuss and predict the loser of the next week’s games. My favorite: “Leonard’s Loser, the Auburn Tigers.”

Rushing the field in Tiger Stadium after beating Spurrier and #1 Florida.
And it is not even close. I’d venture to say it even outranks being in the Superdome when the GOAT beat Clemson.

LSU upsetting #1 Spurrier led Gators in '97 after years of getting our brains beat in by those Florida teams......it was magical to witness at 17yrs old!
